We got a fabulous room on the ground floor right by reception, which initially caused a ripple of concern but no need as very quiet foot traffic outside plus seemed sound proofed. Very comfortable great size, lovely big bed.
Great bathroom.
Drinks expensive in bar. Breakfast very good and the check out time of 12 noon was lovely plus breakfast till 11am.
Few wee niggles which I don't expect to come across in 5 star - water stains on the ceiling in bathroom and bedroom, shortest flex I have ever seen on a kettle and when 2 electrical items - only kettle and coffee machine - lights fused!
Small niggles but for the price, and its reputation think it should all be right.
But bascally would I go again for an adult treat - YES I would.

“ We stayed here for the 1st time at the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our visit! The staff were extremely friendly & helpful and the hotel was beautifully decorated throughout. Our room was a standard room but even that boasted a four poster bed and roll top bath! We didn't dine at the hotel but the breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed relaxing in the small bar area before we went out for the night. We would definitley return to this hotel and would highly recommend it to others wishing to book somewhere special.
