Hotel is within walking distance to the town centre. Our room was spacious and comfortable and the bathroom was modern. We stayed for two nights and were very happy with the breakfast and service.

Top Tip: Brios, Italian restaurant across the road, great food and Christies pub on the corner is cosy.

What a pleasant suprise. As with any late booking I believe one takes a risk. However the Kimberley proved to be an exception to the rule. On booking the service from Travel Republice was second to none as for the Kimberley Hotel
On arrival the reception staff were professional and friendly and nothing was to much trouble. It was obvious that this Hotel was undergoing some major refurbishment which fortunately was coming to an end and not at all intrusive. However on entering our room it was nice to see to what a High standard it had been finished to. The hotel was split into two, the main building invited any passer by with it fresh look and parasoled tables on the terrace to the front. And at the rear was the private car park and what I believed was the new annex in which we stayed. The room it'self out punched it's class and beat hands down some of the more expensive rooms I have stayed in around England. This was only enhanced by the style and decor of the bathroom which was wonderful.

Morning breakfast was a self service affair that had all the usual continental choices or the more appealing Full english option which is the reason my waist line suffers. However the standard of ingredients was high with bacon that was actually thick enough to call bacon which was a nice change to the skin graft thin options one normally gets.
The service by the waitresses was polite and efficient drawing customers into polite but not intrusive conversation. If there was one grumble with the self service part, it would be the arrangement of holding your plate in one hand, lifting the lid with the other, trying to find where to put it down without it sounding like a Symphony cymbal crash then chasing the food around and balancing it on your plate whilst trying to replace the lid. Im not trained to seve it although Im more than qualified to eat it and well done chef. More a laugh than a complaint and it wouldn't cost anything for a bit of assistance in that area.
Finally in certain rooms the addition of a "Kimberley Bear" left on your childs pillow and free to take home was a nice touch and made the trip for my daughter. For me it was the service touches such as when leaving our room in the morning a letter was left at our room door informing us of who the duty manager was and his team and what the local weather was forcast to be. 3 Star ? I don't think thats accurate. Well done Kimberley 4 star from me and thank you Tavel Republic for such a bargain.

Top Tip: Close to the international center for venues conferences and concerts. Approx 200yards Plenty of nice restraunts within walking distance. 5 mins walk turn left at the lights and you will find an itallian restraunt called Vivivo. Good food Pleasant staff great contempory decor and reasonable prices.

Breakfast was not as expected, having been notified the names of three breakfast chefs, before we went to the dining room, we were disappointed that it was already cooked under hot lamps, even a egg chef would have made a big difference.

The rest of the hotel was excellent, and the staff really friendly.

We would certainly recommend it to our friends.
