“ The hotel was very comfortable and our room was warm, freshly decorated and very clean. One light didn't work, but there were other lights in the room so this wasn't as important as it might have been. The hot water was extremely hot; this was great in terms of baths and so on, but perhaps would save the hotel a bit of money if the temperature was down a tiny bit? We ate in the Ash restaurant on the first evening. Our meal was very tasty and looked lovely, but we had more than a 40 minute wait between our starter and main meal. Also, it was perhaps a little overcrowded - the tables were perhaps a little too close together. Out of the hotel's control was the noise of the seagulls - it was all night, both nights, probable because there were bins below our window for both the hotel and a couple of restaurants nearby. Otherwise, we had a lovely stay, and the staff became more friendly as the time went by.
“ Top Tip: Loch Ness is beautiful - allow some time to drive round it and stop off at Urquart Castle.

The hotel check-in time is 3pm and we were line of 50 people all wanting to check-in at the same time as staff seem to spend all day asking people to wait until 3pm, even though check-out time is 10.30am!
The hotel is in the best location in town but it can be noisy. The hotel is very old fashioned which can be nice but its starting to look rather tatty.
We were woken up on a Sunday morning at 5.30am by what sounded like someone trashing a Hotel room. There were sounds of furniture being thrown about, slamming of doors, sounds of wood being hammered. At 6:30 am we called the night porter and he went to investigate, he informed us that they had "the decorators in" - 6AM ON A SUNDAY MORNING?! The noise did not stop and we had to call to complain several times before it quietened down for about 30 mins. Come 9am on the same morning we had housekeeping at the door wanting in to clean, then again at 10am - so we never got a moments peace, it was a complete nightmare and we won't be going back. No one offered to help and not an apology from anyone except the lovely old night porter who say that he was sorry and couldn not do anything except inform management. Very disappointed with this hotel. They can't get the basics right.
“ Top Tip: Lots of lovely places to eat nearby, try the filling station a couple of doors up, Ash is good too - thats located next to the Hotel

“ We had a pleasant overnight stay, room clean and comfortable. We ate in the Ash restaurant, service and food good. Breakfast was much improved from previous stays.

We have stayed at this hotel previously and since then, the hotel seems to have gone down hill. The decor is very worn and in some parts look tatty, although it is kept clean.
I would not stay here again because it is expensive for the standard of hotel.
