“ Felt the hotel standards had fallen slightly since our previous stays, maybe explained by the lack of a manager presently as the replacement for the outgoing one was not expected for a couple of weeks. Still this fall should not have happened and will not take much to reverse.

The hotel looks the part with nice furnishings etc but parts could do with a good clean. One of the handles on my bath was black at the ends and as it was the handle which could be clearly seen, shouldn't have been so.
Food at the hotel is disappointing. There's always loads of cooked food at breakfast although as its at the end of the serving session one wonders where it all goes. Choice is ok. Food in the evening isn't very good. I had leek and potato soup which wasn't anything like it should be and I wondered how you could manage to get it so wrong?
All in all, not really good value for money.
“ Top Tip: Useful shopping park opposite where you can buy a nice M&S salad for supper!

“ This was one of the nicest and most unusual hotels we have stayed in. It was the original Liverpool Airport and was built in the Art Deco style. It has recently been refurbished and the attention to detail is amazing. The guest rooms are spacious, the public areas are stunning. Even the staircase is a work of art! In addition, there are photographs of the airport when it was operational , the original Art Deco style Hangers and even aircraft on the tarmac. The staff are quite rightly very proud of the hotel, professional and friendly. Anybody who used the Airport in the sixties or who saw the Beatles there would really enjoy the memory trip!
“ Top Tip: Drive through Garston to Grassendale and park at Otterspool Promenade. You can walk into Liverpool alongside The River Mersey and enjoy great views of The Wirral and North Wales beyond. After about 3 km ,there is a pub called The Brittania that does a great carvery.
