“ Rooms are above a busy pub. I arrived shortly after a West Ham United match had finished, and all the bars were packed solid with supporters ( well behaved I must add) but it was difficult to book in. I had to ask at a busy bar, and had to wait until after the person behind the bar was able to attend to me. Later that evening there was a private party in the pub, and the noise from this prevented me from sleeping. There did not seem to be much I could do about this - nobody that I could contact. There were no phones in the room anyway. The noise from the party carried on until 2 a.m. I had to leave early the next morning for the London Marathon, and so I telephoned the pub the next day re the noise. I was told that the party host was supposed to turn the noise down after midnight until the end at 2 a.m. The noise was indeed lowered slightly but was still very loud. I was asked to ring again and speak to the manager. Alas I was unable to do so as there was only an answer phone, and nobody rang me back. When I rang again, I was told that the pub had a licence for music until 2 a.m. and that " this is a pub" but my complaint would be passed on. I appreciate that this is a pub and peace and quiet was not something guests might expect, but the response was disapointing. On the plus side, with the exception of the noise, good value for ther money

“ Hotel and facilities were very poor. Bar below was dodgy. Checked out after second night because of noise. I payed for four nights and was told i would not receive a refund for the two nights i didn't stay.

“ Top Tip: I would recomend an armed gaurd to accomopany you if you dare to go.
