It was designed by a famous Architect, Sir Bernard Tate who was well known for designing hospitals. When the hospital was first opened it was the forerunner of a new way of treating patients. The building was paid for by the Masons and all the plaques on the doors show the names and badges of the Masonic Lodges who provided the money for the construction. The hospital was opened by King George IV and Queen Mary.This is an extraordinary property, located in a peaceful location just outside the centre of London but well connected by tube to the heart of the City. It is ideal for backpackers or those travelling with a budget.
