“ A bit cramped (a rather narrow building), but OK if all you need is somewhere to sleep in London for a couple of nights. Breakfast room small, with minimal customer service (mix your own instant coffee). Not for those who have difficulty with stairs.

I have just come back from a one night stay in your Guildford Hotel in Russell Square in London, although the room was adequate it did smell terribly of smoke which I did find very unwelcoming, the staff did not speak very good english so we did have a few problems understanding each other, but got there in the end.
I do think the hotel could do with updating, I am aware that I did not pay a fortune for the room I do think it could do with being a bit more up to date.

“ the hotel had no soap in the room. there was no spoon to stir your drinks in the room. breakfast consisted of cereal and toast. no cooked breakfast.there was no full mirror.

Hotel was adequate. The bathroom hadn't been cleaned prior to our stay though and our room was reached via three flights of quite steep stairs so wouldn't be suitable for anyone with mobility problems.
The room was fine for one night, but I wouldn't recommend for a longer stay.
