“ good clean comfortable hotel

“ The room was very clean, though i did not like such a small room being on two floors! The staff were rude and very unhelpful. I had to que for breakfast and was late for my meeting. I felt very unwelcome at this hotel and will not be returning there.

“ The hotel was excellent the staff were very friendly and courteous, the room we had on the 7th floor was modern, clean and well designed, even if it did only look over the rear of the hotel.
Breakfast was plentiful, with a good choice, and when needed hot, you were able to choose from cereal, fruit, full english or cold meats with an assortment of different bread.
The bed was very comfortable, the faclities in the bathroom especially the shower were first class, with the added extra of quality lotions etc.,
The staircase magnificent as was the dining room, it was spacious with the marble, pillars and carvied panels making you feel you had stepped back in time.
I would recommend the Russell, we travelled with friends, whose room was on the 5th floor they felt as we did that they would certainly return.
Nothing that was too much trouble from the moment we checked in, we arrived early so our room was not ready so we had to use the left luggage, the two members of staff working in there had a sense of humour and were only too pleased to help.

“ Top Tip: Close to Euston Station and within walking distance of restuarant to suit most tastes, we eat near Covent Garden as we were going to a show in the evening, so can not recommend anything close

“ Imposing and impressive building very close to Russell Square tube station. Single rooms are very small but adequate and for the price (£86) this was good value for London. Bathroom was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was standard buffet fare with plenty of choice but it was very busy and apparently always is at weekends so you either need to go outside of the most popular times or be prepared to queue and wait for a table. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. I asked for a quiet room and was given one on the 6th floor at the back but there was equipment running outside which was pretty noisy and disruptive when the windows were open eg trying to watch TV. However, I closed the windows at night and couldn't hear anything.
