Sidney Hotel

“ Reception staff efficient and well informed to answer questions about area, transport around London, etc.. Hotel cleanliness excellent. Our room was next to elevator but no noise from doors opening and closing. Room was on top floor in the roof space, everything you need in it, room warm as it got sun most of the day, but there was a fan which we left on almost all the time and this made temperature more comfortable. Shower room small but adequate and plenty of hot water.
Previous to our visit I had read adverse reports on the Sidney - perhaps people should remember that you get what you pay for - and this was good value for money.

“ Some of the staff were very friendly and helpful, but the desk manager was not very helpful or friendly at all. It was not clearly advertised that lunch and dinner meals were not served. Also, breakfast only ran from 7:30 to 9, which meant that I had to have a cold breakfast at the earlier time I needed to leave.

“ This hotel has been refurbished in the last few years and still feels fresh and clean.
Rooms are very small and the singles contain a toilet and shower unit that may have come from a cross channel ferry.
Rooms facing the main road suffer from noise pollution and there is a bus stop directly outside the hotel.
The breakfast room is tightly packed and it can be difficult to find a seat at peak times.
There is a well stocked bar on the ground floor.
