“ Problem with booking; their fault. Told we would be at 'sister hotel' a few doors down. Hotel entrance not inviting at all. Room floor was dirty!! Toilet did not flush properly!! Handle on shower room did not work properly!! Tea/coffee making facilities but no kettle!! Television had no remote!! Never Again!!
“ Top Tip: Keep away!

I booked a twin room but I do not believe this hotel has any - I was travelling with my mother and we were given a double room with a foldaway bed. I explained to the staff that I had booked a twin room but they just said they didn't have any available.
The hotel itself is very nice - lovely decor and very clean. The staff were incredibly polite and exceptionally helpful.
Along with a twin room I opted to book the full breakfast. Breakfast was an interesting experience, whilst I waited for more bacon to be brought out to the hot buffet everything else was being eaten. So when the bacon was eventually brought out, there was no scrambled egg, beans or tomato. To have a 'full' breakfast would have required about 3 trips to get different things at different times.
“ Top Tip: The Victoria pub close by on Lower Belgravia street has a nice menu and very good service at reasonable prices.

I booked 2 twin rooms and was advised we could check in at 2pm-one was ready earlier room 103 which was fine as the other room 8 was not by the time we had to leave for the theatre.
On sunday moning water was leaking into the bathroom from the room above room 103-the shwer could be heard-it seems from the marks on the ceiling this was not a new ocurrence. The shower basin in room 8, which fortunately was on the ground floor, also overran after the 2nd shower was taken.
The breakfast was poor to say the least-no tea/coffee offered until we requested it-no hot food unless you were prepared to wait-having seen the guests who had been at their tables for a time before us dive for the dish of sausages when it appeared it seemed pretty disorganised -no basic cornflakes as cereal.
staff on the whole friendly and helpful

We stayed at the Topham Hotel last night and our room was on the 3rd floor. We were greeted by friendly staff and given our room. We arrived at 11am so were pleased to be allowed into our room early. The room was very bright and clean and newly decorated. Excellent bathroom and furnishings... apart from the bed! The bed was clean but like lying on a layer of tennis balls with springs between them!! Lumpy, bumpy, creeky and tilting to the left so that my husband had to cling on to the edge to stop from falling off!! Our two cups were dirty and chipped. We phoned to have these replaced whilst we went off for the day. We returned 4 hours later and the cups were still dirty. Phoned through our displeasure and these were replaced within 10 minutes so no problems there. We then went out for the evening and when we returned the heating was not working. It was late so we didnt bother to do anything - as us Brits normally do - and got up in the morning feeling cold and tired after a very uncomfortable night on our very uncomfortable bed! Had to put up with noisy cleaners during the day time and noisy guests from either side and above - not sure it was their fault but think the walls were paper thin! We had a good cooked English breakfast with no complaints. We then went to check out and aired our complaints about the room to the American receptionist who took absolutely no notice of our tale of woe and in fact ignored us completely when the phone rang. That was that!! No offer of recompense - no notice of us at all. Such a shame as this hotel is in a fantastic location but they obviously just want the money without the service. Wont be recommending this hotel to anyone!
Stayed February 2012, travelled as a couple
“ Top Tip: Very close to all the Victoria theatres for Billy Elliot, Wicked, Buckingham Palace, Victoria coach station etc

“ Excellent location near Victoria Station and Buckingham Palace. Breakfast very poor and expensive! Dinner was included in our package - and certainly not worth the money if not. No indication on booking that they did not serve alcohol - except for one glass of champagne with meal priced at over £7.00. If we had known there was no wine we would not have booked.
