  • Excellent hotel with high standards of efficiency and cleanliness. Great location opposite the Thames and handy for the Embankment tube station, Whitehall, Horseguards courtyard, Westminster Abbey and other London landmarks.

A magnificent five-star London hotel near Westminster offering supreme luxury and panoramic views over the River Thames and the London Eye, The Royal Horseguards is a true London icon, crowned AA London Hotel of the Year in 2010-11.

Completely refurbished to its full Victorian splendour, with original tiled floors, high ceilings and chandeliers, The Royal Horseguards combines an extraordinary heritage – it was the HQ of the Secret Service during the First World War - with all the five-star comforts of the 21st century.

With xxclusive Bars & Restaurants near Charing Cross & Trafalgar Square, our Award-winning One Twenty One Two restaurant recreates the intimacy and intrigue of the hotel’s secret history and aristocratic connections, whilst the elegant lounge serves our infamous traditional Afternoon Teas. Fancy something a little stronger? Try one of our lavish cocktails in Equus Bar.

The hotel offers a complimentary Wi-Fi Internet access.

Excellent hotel with high standards of efficiency and cleanliness. Great location opposite the Thames and handy for the Embankment tube station, Whitehall, Horseguards courtyard, Westminster Abbey and other London landmarks.

I would book a Riverview room for our next visit. The internal facing room we had was small although very clean with everything you need and in good working order.

The evening meal in the Restaurant was well presented and delicious. Staff were very attentive at all times.

One dislike is the service charge on the bar/restaurant bill which is pricey if you're not aware of it - check your bill carefully as it is discretionary.

Overall a very pleasant short weekend stay which i would definately recommend.

Check-in date:

A very comfortable, convenient city center hotel with quiet, comfortable rooms and public areas.

Our restaurant meal in 1212 (the in hotel restaurant) was disappointing, not because of the quality of the food or the front of house staff but because the delays between courses were excessive (i.e. 1 hour plus between the first and main courses) and having to first ask and then complain the pleasure of what should have been a very pleasant experience was almost totally lost.
