There is a large swimming pool and fitness suite which guests can use during their stay.
The breakfast included in our booking was fine - self-service and cooked food available if wanted.
It is close to the motorway system and not too far from Manchester airport, yet its riverside location made it feel quite rural.

Quite a nice place but several problems.
1. Wet room flooded on using shower. i think the drain was blocked.
2. Kettle in room did not work, nor did substitute, but staff were co-operative and the office kettle was eventually used.
3. On arrival at breakfast was told there was no water for tea - had to go back to my room to boil the kettle.
4. Asked for wake up call at 7.15 but call came at 6.15!
5. spoke to a woman in the dining room at breakfast who said staff had missed her wake up call entirely. She also said that someone had asked her if the room was Ok. she said, 'why do you ask?' and the staff member said. 'oh it hadn't been cleaned'..... I kid you not!

“ Room was boxy and a bit 'prison cell' like with lots of bricks visible. Bathroom shower screen leaked and sink was cracked. Public areas of this hotel were fine.
