This was an "emergency" telephone booking, as our return flight was delayed. Like many Britannia hotels it provided a dispiriting experience - difficult to find [the night receptionist gave faulty directions over the phone] tucked away in a converted office block above a small supermarket, the initial impression is not helped by the entrance being shared with, effectively,a public bar with noisy customers and with prominent notices about security and "money is not kept overnight on the premises"; nor by the awkward layout [the old, slow lift is accessed up a flight of stairs!] Parking is in an adjacent public PoD carpark.
However, the somewhat cramped room was clean, the bed reasonably comfortable, the bathroom appeared to have been recently re-equipped, and we managed a reasonably restful night in what became a quiet environment.
Back to the minus side, the room TV did not work, and some wiring was loose to appliances; tea and coffee in the restaurant was undrinkable so we abandoned the prepaid breakfast untried to the surly east european "waitress".
All-in-all 2 stars might be justified for an emergency stop, but I wouldn't return unless desperate.
