Unsatisfactory

“ Very disappointed with hotel. Food was not great, I had to reorder a starter. Apart from manager at restaurant, no other staff seemed too bothered. Jacuzzi was not working, things have been let down in the garden. Such a shame as it was a lovely place to go to.
“ Top Tip: Lots of friendly pubs but beware most close by 2pm for Sunday roasts.

“ The hotel was clean, tidy, very welcoming and set in some fantastic rural English countryside. We even brought our dog along for the trip and she enjoyed herself no end by chasing a fox in the grounds!
“ Top Tip: The Pelican pub/restaurant close by was extremely welcoming too, even with our dog in tow. The staff were happy and smiley; the food was reasonably priced and delicious; and the menu had a good variety catering for all palates. ,

“ Lovely hotel but the weekend we chose to stay was particulaly busy with a wedding party and a christmas party. Consequently we did not stay in the rooms in the main part of the hotel. We had to stay in accomodation across the courtyard called the Mews. This was basic accomodation and a little disappointing. Also the restaurant and bar was 'out of bounds' due to the parties. We made the most of it as it was just one night and didn't let it spoil our stay.
“ Top Tip: Had a lovely evening meal at the John O Gaunt pub in Hungerford.

“ Excellent service. Very comfortable rooms. Food was excellent and breakfast was exceptional. We should have booked a disabled room as there wasn't a lift in the older part of the hotel. No handle rail on the small three steps on the middle landing which made it difficult to access.
