“ One of the comfiest nights sleep I have had in a long time. Leisure facilities were excellent, lovely pool, sauna and jacuzzi. Good choice of food in the bar and breakfast was excellent.

“ Staff, rooms, facilities, food, setting and location excellent. Local information leaflets out of date and inadequate. Slight problem over pre-booked Gluten Free Diet. Made great venue for weekend away and overall very enjoyable.
“ Top Tip: Brinsley Lodge (in Brinsley) and Dovecote (in Eastwood) for meals. The D H Lawrence Centre for local history. The Peonix park & tram ride into Nottingham City Centre.

“ I was a little disappointed that, on arrival, there was no one at the reception desk. A brief search around the area did not find any staff. Another couple arrived to check in but it was a few minutes before a member of staff finally arrived. After checking in with a male colleague we were directed to our allocated room which was at the furthest end of the hotel from the reception. Upon reaching our room we found it had a double bed even though we had requested a twin room. A long walk back to reception then remedied the matter with a room only a short distance from the reception area. The rooms were clean, the staff were helpful.

we have visited Eastwood Hall many times and this time should had been extra special as it was New Year's Eve.
we arrived at the hotel and got a second to none welcome from the staff behind the reception. No waiting for our room and this time as I had booked the reservation months in advance, I got a good price for a superior bedroom and breakfast included.
The room was beautiful and clean you couldn't ask for a nicer room. My partner then had a shower and when adjusting the height of the shower head the part that holds up the shower broke and hit him on the top of the head.
We did take the plastic part down to the reception and show the receiptionist and he said he was very sorry for what had happened!!! That was it!!!
I asked to speak to the manager, who also said he was sorry, but no talk at that stage about moving us into another room or some sort of compensation.
I suggested that we get a free drink or something and the manager agreed, but if I had not said anything we wouldn't got offered one.
The maintenance man did come to our room to look at the fixing and went away but said because it was New Year's Eve he probably would not be able to get a part and offered us a change of room. We stayed where we wer,e as we had been there a few hours and unpacked and did not want to uproot again.
“ Top Tip: The Barn House is an Indian restaurant and the food is out of this world. It is only a short taxi ride away. If you are a wine drinker, I suggest that you do not have the red wine as it is 'rank'.

“ A well placed hotel that provides excellent value for money. The staff could not do enough for us and the breakfast was of a very high standard. The only minor complaint being the lack of air conditioning in the bedrooms.
