To the north just half a mile away the high tors come right down to the village edge while to the south the River Lyd winds its way through Lydford Forest. Lydford village has an interesting medieval castle and the nearby Lydford Gorge (National Trust) and White Lady waterfall is a must. Alternatively drive out to explore the Peninsula; the South Devon coast North Cornish coasts Eden Project Exeter and Plymouth are all less than an hours drive away making Lydford House an ideal central location to explore far and wide!
