Welcome to the Raincliffe Hotel - we are the only hotel open all year on Scarborough's favourable South Bay that has achieved the coveted 4 star silver award for our levels of service, cleanliness and comfort which we offer to many discerning customers every year. We are a comfortable and well appointed licensed hotel, situated in a convenient position for leisure visitors, business people and conference delegates, with an almost level approach, though Valley Gardens, to Scarborough�s beautiful South Bay beach. Despite being only our second hotel (I was previously a primary school teacher and Mal has been a haulier on and off for some 15 years) we are now entering our fifth year at the Raincliffe. Our sole aim is to offer all our guests' unrivalled comfort, value, quality and peace of mind - a 100% positive experience. We offer easy parking, evening meals (pre booking required) all freshly prepared and cooked on the premises, a comfortable residents' lounge, free wi-fi, digital televisions and a small bar, licensed until 22.00hrs. The main routes to Pickering, York, Whitby and Filey are easily accessible from Valley Road. Many attractions and amenities are within easy walking distance notably the town centre, beach, Spa Theatre, harbour, gardens, railway station. Please Note: We are fully non-smoking accommodation. No pets are permitted on the premises (Only working pets are allowed). On street parking facilities available (Full CCTV security System is installed at the front/ Rear of the premises). Strictly no food or drink allowed in the bedrooms, unless purchased on the premises. Check-in time 14.00 hrs, check-out time 10.00hrs. We play host to many visitors to Scarborough, notably foreign professionals attending language courses at Anglolang School of English, visitors on business, delegates for various conferences, chess, bridge tournaments, Scarborough cricket festival, Jazz festival, Beached music weekend, motor racing and many other special events.

All bedrooms overlook the hotel gardens, located on the ground, first and second floors of the property. Each room has comfortable, quality beds/chairs, 100% cotton bedlinen, fluffy towels, generously filled complimentary drinks tray: hot chocolate, selection of teas/coffees, hand baked biscuits. Many rooms have large shower cubicles and king size beds. Complimentary toiletries are available plus hairdryers/trouser press/ironing facilities for your convenience. All rooms are double glazed.

Eco Policy:
After attending a green advantage course we are committed to reduce, reuse, recycle ethos, as part of being 'greener' we have... �Brand new boilers to reduce our energy consumption. �Most of our products are sourced locally and we have the vast majority of all our purchases delivered in order to avoid using the car. �As part of a complete re-roof 30mm depth of roof insulation was installed to make this 120 year old building more energy efficient. �Double-glazing is installed throughout to minimize heat loss. �CFL light bulbs are used throughout to provide low energy lighting and help cut our carbon emissions. �We recycle everything possible, at present 80% of our waste. �We encourage guests to leave their car parked up once they arrive and to either walk or use public transport; timetables and guided walk information is available. �New, smaller toilet cisterns to reduce water consumption.

Mobility Description:
There is a short flight of 6 steps plus a further 5 gradual steps to the main porch from path level. There is a handrail on the left hand size over the whole length of the path. There is an anti-slip surface to the path with white lining to the edges of the steps. There is a ground floor room with a doorway of 80cm and an en suite doorway of 68cm. Access to the bedrooms on first and second floor is via a carpeted staircase 1m wide. There is a banister rail to the right and a continuous handrail on the left of the staircase. There are 23 steps to the first floor and 22 steps to the second floor. All sockets in hotel bedrooms are sited at easily operable height. PLEASE NOTE: THERE IS NO LIFT IN THE BUILDING En suites have either a step in or floor level tray. Non slip flooring is fitted and rubber bathmats can be supplied if requested. All en suites have either pivot or bi-fold doors of varying sizes. The smallest cubicles are 80cm x 80cm.
