Arrived Friday afternoon for one night stay at this hotel.Room was a reasonable size with king size bed & flat screen tv.Tea & coffee making facilities were in the room too. Next morning we had a hot buffet breakfast which was very good.
The hotel is very central so the Christmas Fayre & shops shops that we had come to see were only a five minute walk away.We enjoyed our stay at this hotel & would stay again in any further visit to York.

“ Very friendly staff. We were happy with our rooms, but heard another couple complaining about the cleanliness of their room. They were told the hotel was full but the staff semed to be doing everything they could to find them somewhere else. Apparently the hotel was due to be refurnished and have new carpets fitted.

“ Nice hotel, friendly staff, close to the centre of York so a good base for a weekeend away. But.... why do all these modern build hotels have some sort of air-conditioning unit grinding away 24 hours a day. It rattled through the whole hotel.

“ We had a wonderful weekend at the Royal York Hotel. We stayed in a garden room which was a very good size with a good size bathroom. The hotel itself is a grand Victorian creature full of original features, but there is nothing outdated about the decor or room fitments. Tried room service too - both food and service were excellent. Nothing to fault and will stay here again.

“ Breakfast as always with the Hilton was excellent, unfortunately we had booked a twin room ....ROOM 106 - to be avoided at all costs .... noise in room/cupboard next door - or the roller shutters for the car park kept us awake most of the night.

Novotel York Centre hotel is a 3 star hotel ideally located on the banks of the river Foss alongside the historic city walls within 5 minutes walk of the main city centre and a short drive to the University of York. All the en-suite contemporary rooms have internet access and satellite TV. Facilities include Elements Restaurant Bar indoor heated swimming pool and ample car parking (£724 hrs). There are 8 fully-equipped function rooms for up to 210 people perfect for meetings or weddings. The hotel is located in the city centre close to the historic sights of the city and Clifford Tower. York railway station is 1.6 km from the hotel and Leeds Bradford International Airport is 50 km away.Please note the hotel swimming pool will be closed from 7th November to 16th December for refurbishment apologies for any inconvenience.
