We stayed in anchorage for two nights , as stop overs for Seward ( before and after ) . Our first night was at a Days inn , who collected us from the airport and dropped us off the following day at the train stn at 05.45 . No charge for either .
On our return to Anchorage we were booked in at the Hilton . We phoned them from the train stn , to see if they could collect us (600 mtrs away ) , we were told , "no shuttle bus for the train stn" . Due to running out of cash and no ATM , we had to drag two heavy suit cases up a very steep hill 600 mtrs to the hotel , of course , we then told the bell boy , dont bother ! . The hilton also did not provide a free shuttle to the airport , where it appeared that most other hotels did ! Costing an extra £16.
