Sonesta bayfront miami is where the tv series burnside is filmed which is aired on bravo sky chanel. Pleasant reception area but staff not knowledgable at all even concierge guy leon did not know answers about the local area that we asked. We were in room 1902-1 was meant to be an upgraded room to the superior we had booked. Very basic, hotel inner curtains torn huge hole in them very shabby. Bathroom clean, flat screen lcd tv and nice bedlinen but no mirror in bedroom, only in bathroom.
Breakfast at panorama sky lounge floor 8 $19.95 pp plus 19% tax and plus 15% tip so expensive. Snacks at the pool/lunch from same restaurant - tempura prawns were fab as were the baked scallops these came in at $50 .

Top Tip:
Beware hotel does not offer currency exchange service, you cant exchange GBP to $ in usa banks the hotel told us so we had to go to a shopping mall dadeland which was nearest one that had a currency exchange bureau - it was a $60 return journey to go and change some pounds to dollars. What we learned the day of our departure was that we should have got a taxi to the airport instead at a cost of $40 return as they have currency exchange places. We had just come off a 7 day caribbean cruise and had come straight form ship to hotel on a saturday so no chance to exchange any more money before we arrived a sonnesta.
hotel is super close to a gorgeous cafe almost next door - the peacock garden cafe- this is wonderful - menu, quality and service, Popular with locals excellent menu from breakfast through to dinner and good portions. Try the flatbreads they are lush as was sea food platter. Other places to eat within 5 mins walk also starbucks 5 mins walk. Beauty salons and spas 5 mins walk. Designer shops coconut grove. Taxi to south beach was $34 each way we went to the delano hotel famous haunt at south beach had dinner on our last night was $300 for 2 starters 2 mains 1 bottle of wine so beware. Not worth it, Shore club much better. Recommend hiring a southwind boat 24' FROM AMERICAN WATERSPORTS AT MONTYS ON THE HARBOUR 5 MINS BY TAXI, 10 TILL 2PM $450 WAS MUCH FUN.
