I was very disappointed.
Check in is not until 16.00 when I would have expected this to be earlier. We were allowed to complete registration when we arrived, but told not able to collect keys until the room was ready, however would be called when it was. All good. But, no call received, and when we went back to front desk for key collection after 16.00 found there was a queue back log of people checking in of nearly two hours!
The management of the queuing system was poor, queue was separated as going out of the door, and yet new arrivals were not directed to the actual back of queue which was winding down the other side of reception and effectively queued in front of others who had been there longer. There was no fast track for key collection, and so whilst our paperwork had been completed, we had to wait, for people in queue to complete full process. There was no visibility of management during this time, and no offer of refreshment whilst waiting in a very hot lobby. There were a large number of elderly/infirm people due to an event taking place that weekend, and they were not offered seating, or preferential treatment. I felt very sorry for the front desk staff as people were very irate due to the long wait.
We booked a double room, but were given a twin. Room was small, no fridge, noisy air conditioning. Check out was at 11.00 - when a late check out was requested (bearing in mind it was almost 18.00 before we got access to our room the previous night) we were offered until 12.00 free of charge, but $10 per hour after that. There is a courtesy room available on request.
We chose the Wyndham Orlando Resort for our last night expecting it to provide a better/more special experience, but it actually cost 50% more than the Palms International Resort - a little further along International Drive where we stayed for the first night of our holiday, which in my opinion was a much better experience, and definitely much better value for money.

“ Nice, convienent setting but rooms quite tired now although clean with fresh bedding & towels. Restaurant on site not great but plenty within walking distance, great location if no car hired. Hotel due for total refurb commencing 2013.
“ Top Tip: Charleys steak house close by for delicious steaks but share as portions huge!

“ Location of hotel is ideal for International Drive with many good restaurants and bars within walking distance and the I trolley bus stop. Ample car parking and nice resort feel to grounds with pool area open all night if you want to sit and have a drink later in the evening. Rooms are adequate but looking a bit tired and no fridge/microwave facilities and old style TVs. Hotel bar is good for food as is restaurant and 20/25 min drive to Disney parks. Also access to Gym is included in price with sauna / steam room/ free towels and fruit and newspapers available in there free for guests.

Top Tip:
Couple of places within walking distance which are definitely worth trying are Chillis and Millers Bar on I Drive. Both have good value food and decent menu range and offer good prices on beer and wine deals daily.
Big drawback however is that they hold a "spooky empire" convention every October which results in the hotel being fully booked out for the weekend Friday through to Monday. Result is lots of horror fans dressed as zombies taking over the hotel and lots of drinking and parties. That said no problems with behaviour but can get a bit noisey but still entertaining. Major issue though is parking if you have a rental car and go out on Friday or Sat you have no chance of parking near your hotel room and may even struggle to get into the hotel grounds at all with your car. Hotel do nothing about this despite you being booked for 14 nights and the "zombies" only being there for 2. I would recommend the hotel but would avoid this weekend if booking so check with the hotel or the spooky empire website if thinking about a October holiday.
