Maingate Lakeside Resort

“ The hotel served our purposes as it was only a short taxi ride to the parks in Disney. It was lovely and clean and staff were welcoming and friendly. There were 3 pools so plenty of room for everybody.

“ I picked this hotel because it was close to Disney World and it was [must be the closest ] found most of the reviews before i went so over critical of this hotel . We found the hotel suited our needs , Clean large rooms , Towels changed every day if needed ,maid service every day , decent size tv with many channels .large clean fridge , 3 heated pools in spacious gardens . Bar and diner average price's ,shop . ect . It is the same as a 3 star hotel in spain perhaps a little better. We found it most suitable at a good value price at travel republic . shuttles to disney every day if you don't have car' fridge As you can see we were very happy at the Main gate resort .( Car parked outside your room at night). forgot that .

“ Top Tip: Loads of restaurants within 5 mins Walking distance Wendys . dennys, Mc Donalds, steak bars, Chinese Buffets, Indian, We liked Dennys and Red lobster, and Ponderosa . and they are all very close to hotel .

“ Simple room, very much like you would get on a package holiday to Spain, but this is no criticism. When you consider the price, and what you will be using the room for. Basically all we did was use it as a place to sleep before hitting the the parks. For that It is more than adequate, the important thing was that it was clean and air conditioned. I stayed here on the recommendation of a friend who has stayed here previously and I can see why.

Pool was a good size and at this time of year it was like have a private pool :)

Staff where friendly and helpful. As a word of warning between now (November 2011) an early 2012 they are meant to be doing some major work at the motel, but as the motel is split into 2 blocks I don't see it causing any problems.

Its very close to all the Disney parks (about 4 miles) Universal (10 miles) and Seaworld about the same. There are lots of eateries in the area, but the main road is, how can I put this, a bit bright, they do like their neon signs.

“ Top Tip: We liked Golden Corral for breakfast and the odd dinner, Ponderosa was Ok too as they are cheap and buffet style, but in the evening we would prefer to goto a Longhorn Steak House, nice steaks at reasonable prices. Must be good because we ALWAYS had to queue to eat there.
