Check-in date:

Great place to stay at a really good price. We stayed over the road at the SHeraton last year and loved the location and found the blue Herron available for our dates at a better price & were very happy with it. We had a one bedroom on the 18th floor and had great views of the lake. There was loads of room for the 2 of us, a great space. Even if we had children with us there would have been more then enough room. You get a great view of Disney & even fireworks at night from the balcony by the lifts. Bahama breeze down the road is a great place to eat & drink, several great places in walking distance. There is a large 24 hr supermarket over the road, plus a 2min drive to tgi's and more great places to eat, plus on the doorstop of downtown Disney & Disney parks. We will stay here again next time for sure!

Absolutely fabulous hotel. We travelled with a five year old and a 3 month old baby. Suites have everything you need.
Each suite is privately owned so this could be why some reviews are not as good as others but I honestly could not fault this hotel. It's near to shops and restaurants and 5 mins by car to IDrive. Around the corner from disneyworld. I would not hesitate to recommend this and will be looking to stay here again if I'm lucky enough to get back to Florida.

Just got back from a fab stay at the Blue Heron, it was more than we expected. Rooms very clean, they even left soaps, dishwasher tabs, washing up liquid, toilet roll. We usually get a villa and have to buy all this but we managed with what they supplied us and you get a complimentary room clean after a week where they replenished all the above. Kitchen was like new, plenty of storage, flat screen tv's, dvd's in every room and plenty of channels to choose from. The only problem I had was the pool area, because of the position it was soon shaded and in the afternoon you could get some sun but you had to keep moving to keep in it. On the whole I would definitely go back as it was so near to all the parks, shops and restaurants.

Top Tip: Nearby restaurants - Bahama breeze, you can make a meal of the entrees, having a main meal is a waste, just to much!!! Red Lobster is a really good restaurant too, or try the Golden Coral it's cheap and excellent for breakfast or evening meal lots of choice even for fussy eaters like my son!

Check-in date:

This is a condo style hotel and the appartments are self catering. This is exactly what we wanted. The rooms were spacious and the view brilliant. Housekeeping is every 7 days.

On arrival we were asked to attend a presentation for the resort group with offer of coupons for restaurants but we declined as they tend to be quite hard sell events and take up valuable time from your holiday.

That being said. The accommodation was clean and very good. The hotel has free courtesy buses to the theme parks.

We were driving and the acommodation is near the I-4 highway.

We would definately stay here again.

Top Tip: Do visit Busch Gardens in Tampa. It is well worth the short journey.

Avoid Wonderworks as this is just a waste of time - not even free parking.

Do take an airboat ride.

The premium outlet shops can be very busy. Orlando is good for shopping.

Avoid Orlando durring Thanksgiving as it is very busy and the theme parks are mobbed.

Check-in date:

The apartment we stayed in was well equipped with a great view over Lake Brian. We had a two bedroom end apartment on the 10th floor of tower 2. Plenty of room for the 4 of us with additional beds for larger groups.
Generally clean and tidy. Some wear and tear, but nothing horrendous. No time share hard sell. Decent gym (one in each tower) on the ground floor for those active types. Pool was nice, but with the wind, was a bit cool for sunbathing at the end of October, start of November.

Only minor items of irritation:
Only a few clothes hangers provided after asking for some. These were provided promptly, but only brought 8 for the 4 of us. Bought 20 from Wallmart for about $3. Well stocked now!
No safe in apartment. Free safety deposit box in office, but no good for routine jewellery/cash. Still, the apartments seemed quite safe.
Road leading into Blue Heron can be quite busy, and requires a dart across 3 lanes of traffic when coming from the I4 side. Quickly get used to it but a little daunting on the first day in an unfamiliar car.

Overall, very good value for the money paid. If staying in Orlando again, I would definitely consider this and the equally good Cypress Pointe Grand Villas on opposite side of I4.
