Originally built in 1879, this beautiful bed and breakfast was replaced in 1915, and is now a member of the Historic Hotels of America on the Register of Historic Places. Noted for its simple charm and friendly service, guests can enjoy spectacular mountain and valley views from the 85-metre wrap-around veranda or from one of the 95 charming rooms. The air-conditioned establishment welcomes guests in a lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out service. Facilities on offer to guests include a hotel safe, cloakroom, lift access, a games room, a bar and a restaurant. Business guests are sure to appreciate the conference facilities. Internet access and a car park provide additional convenience.
“ I requested particular assistance from the reception in advance as this trip included a 70th birthday for one of our party. The staff met every requirement to our utmost satisfaction and mad the trip very special. This is the second occasion I have stayed here and would recommend it to my friends.

Located just off Interstate 95 in the heart of Portsmouth.Just a short drive to Historic Downtown Portsmouth, the ocean and Beaches, the Kittery Outlet Malls, tax free shopping at the Fox Run mall and the Crossings at Fox Run, Strawberry Banke and the Portsmouth Children's Museum. Rooms and bathrooms are medium in size and feature remote control TVs, clock radios, coffee makers, hairdryers, dataports, irons and ironing boards. The hotel exterior was completely remodelled in 2002 giving it a modern look. Great hotel for touring Maine and New Hampshire. “ Hotel was easy to find. Pleasant young man (Tom?) on reception, welcoming and very helpful. The room was large and comfortable. Breakfast was OK - good to have fresh fruit included.

“ Very busy hotel. The Hotel is spread over two area's with a road between, not ideal with small children or in inclement weather. The restaurant is in the main area and can be very busy be prepared for delays.
