The hotel was extremely clean and comfortable. The only disappointing aspect for us, was that the lions have been removed! Taken away two months ago and never to return. We were rather upset. But for other reasons - we would definately recommend the MGM.

Top Tip: Do not miss The Wynn. It's so beautiful.

I would be loathe to recommend this hotel to any one. The staff in the bars and restaurants are not the friendliest and in the bars they are uninterested in serving you. We walked out of one bar when we were ignored and other people who had arrived after us were served

Top Tip: The outback restaurent has great food

The MGM is a huge hotel so expect to do a lot of legwork getting from one place to another. There are lots of restaurants, bars and shops within the hotel complex. Food is expensive in most restaurants, as are drinks. Expect to pay the equivalant of £7 for a small glass of wine! In America, they do not have the no smoking laws we have in the UK, hence the hotel was smokey which they try to mask with overpowering air freshener. Do NOT stay in the West Wing. We wish we'd known this beforehand. A dreary, dark, unwelcoming corridor with grubby carpet leads to these rooms which are awful - dark, depressing and small. The air con unit is in a cupboard beside the bed close to the headboard so the noise kept us awake. There are no main ceiling lights, only bedside lamps and an additional free standing lamp so the whole room was very dark. The is just one window and this is behind the bed. There is no proper bathroom. You walk into the room and facing you is the basin unit. There is a toilet cubicle with a glass door which bangs loudly. The shower is in a separate cubicle, again with the same glass door. There is no privacy when you use the toilet. Our friends were so disappointed that they asked to swap rooms. Wish we had done the same as there are far nicer ones in the hotel. You can tell where they are because the decor changes from dirty, striped carpet and dingy walls to more cheerful wallpaper, flowery carpet and brighter lighting. The hotel itself is lovely - the West Wing rooms are not unless you don't mind being in low light and having no privacy. Try the Paris...

Top Tip: Go across the road to Hooters. It's nothing fancy but they do an excellent breakfast for a few dollars. Go and see the Cirque du Soleil show, Ka in the MGM. Fabulous and like nothing we've ever seen. Buy tickets from the Tix 4 Tonight booths. There are several on the strip and you get a good discount.
