The Point Orlando Resort Hotel

“ This hotel was sold as being one which provides apartments rather than rooms - the difference being an apartment enables you to cook your own meals, etc. Absolute nonsense - they have stuck a microwave above a sink, there are no cooking facilities!!! There are no vending machines, no business facilities (wireless only available in small lobby area) and a down right lack of facilities or information. This is never a 4 star.

“ The Point resort hotel is an excellent hotel for your stay in orlando, especially if you intend to do Universal, wet and wild, sea world, aquatica, busch gardens or discovery cove, as it is just across the road from wet and wild and has excellent connections to the others. It's at the wrong end of town if you intend to do Disney.

The hotel is clean, staff are very helpful, the suites are spacious and extremely well equipped - they even provide coffee for the coffee maker and detergents for the dishwasher and the washing machine. towels are replaced daily if used, and the bed linen refreshed weekly.

We had a 2br lock off suite which comprised dbl with kind bed, ample storage space, tv and air con, ensuite bathroom (enourmous and equipped with large walk in shower, whirlpol bath, walk in shower large vanity unit with plenty of storage and hairdryer), living room with leather sofa, coffee table, lamps, tv, table and chairs and a well equipped kitchen, with large appliances.

the 2nd bedroom suite comprised king bed, ample storage and hanging space, sofa cofee table, dining table and chairs, as well as a kitchenette which comprised microwave, sink, kettle fridge and coffee maker as well as plenty of cupboard space and crockery, cups, glasses - so was excellent for our teenage girls, and they were thrilled with the independance that gave them.

the hotels pool is ample and there is a small hot tub - they are currently in the process of building a poolside bar and will be commencing development of tower 3.

Although the hotel staff would say you have to have a car to get a round we decided not to hire one for the fortnight we were there and managed absolutely fine. you can catch the Itolley green line from the top of the hotel drive, and the red line from near wet and wild - about 10 min walk. there were plenty of choices for eating within the vicinity that you could walk to - TGI Fridays, Chilis, sizzlers, Pizza Hut, Dennys, or the whole of Idrive's offer on the iride.

you could use the iride to get to a number of shopping malls as well as seaworl, Aquatica, descovery cove - the hotel offers free transfers to those as well as universal and disney (at set times)

The area felt safe to walk around in, local supermarkets we fely were poorly stocked and expensive, but you can get a cab to Walmart and stock up when you arrive - much cheeper.

We would reccomend this hotel to anyone - we were thrilled with it.

“ Top Tip: We enjoyed meals at Tu Tu Tango, Bahama Breeze, and the Boston Lobster Feast all on idrive. For value you can't beat Sizzlers - breakfast or evening meal. The parks are a bit less hectice late rin the afternoon and you can stay out for tea - so ahve a few lazy mornings - it's your holidays!
