“ This hotel was in the process of a major refurbishment and should have been closed during the work. A sign at Reception stating 'Please excuse the Dust' was a great understatement. We had to get staff in to vacuum clean our room before we could use it. The following day it was an obstacle course along the corridors as workmen were removing the old carpets, spreading glu / underfelt and late afternoon the new carpets. This was compounded by maintenace work on the elevators. The hotel was shambolic!!

“ Hotel wasn't bad but a little out of the way unless you drive. Lift kept breaking and we were on the 5th floor so we had to carry our luggage (and we had a lot) down 5 flights of stairs!
“
Top Tip:
Driving is a nightmare as most of the roads are 1 way. Book something close to the waterfront so you can walk. Charleston is a beautiful city full of old colonial style buildings with plenty to do.
