We stayed for one night in the Grand Hyatt Tampa and we were pleasantly surprised. This is a very nice hotel, internally the decor is to a high standard. The staff were very polite, courtious and helpful. The rooms were good, clean, quiet and comfortable. The view was great too.
The breakfast was additional cost, as is usual in the USA. Very reasonably priced and good quality. Staff again friendly and helpful.
This hotel is near to the airport and has a complimentary transport service. The hotel also has a complimentary transport service to International Plaza Mall which is good for shopping.
We stayed to avoid driving back to Orlando after visiting Busch Gardens (in my opinion, the best theme park in Florida).
We would definately stay here again and for a bit longer in order to explorer the wider Tampa / Gulf coast area.
Concierge staff helpful. Even the doorman who gave us bottled water as we left.

Top Tip:
Visit Busch Gardens. This Aftrica themed park has real animals set in beautiful grounds as well as 7 top class roller coaster rides.
International Plaza Mall is good for shopping and the shops seem to be stocked with slightly different stock than the Orlando shops (in a good way).

“ Wish we had been given a map of the property when we got there. Then we would have found the lovely second pool and man-made beach much sooner. Front desk also messed up on a delivery to us, with the person concerned very unwilling to say 'sorry'. However the manager resolved both issues to our satisfaction. But all in all a very nice place to stay with great facilities - the pool by the 'beach' is a gem and all the staff but one were very friendly. We'd do it again. Though it would have helped to be told that gps/satnave is a wreck in the area due to a new toll road. Be warned.
