excellent room, clean and large.
friendly staff even allowed us to staf longer than we booked for free
The rooms are well kept and presented if a little on the small side. Otherwise the hotel is excellent value. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooftop terrace has wonderful views and a great hot tub. It is in a great location to explore the whole of Barcelona with the metro literally straight across the street.
Explore for yourself and dont be afraid to go in the small bars/restaurants in the little alleys and side streets-they are much cheaper and there are some real gems!
We were allocated a 2 bedroom bungalow with it's own garden. The bungalow was more than adequate for our needs, it was clean even though a little dated. We arrived at night after a 3 hour delay at Manchester and were given a map and instructions to turn left out of reception then left again by the young man who booked us in. The lighting on the walk ways was inadequate and we took a left turn to early. The walkways were quite steep and it would be very difficult for older visitors to manage without any assistance. Only for a very helpful resident (English) offering to show us the correct was did we eventually find the bungalow. The receptionist did not explain clearly about the half board system. However the restuarant staff explained this to us the following morning and the food and service there was excellent.
The young lady who we saw at reception during the day was extremely helpful and friendly. As we had sun loungers in the garden we did not use the pool so cannot comment on it.
Overall we enjoyed our short stay at Island Village.
The Toby Jug pub close to Island Village is worth a visit.
We have just returned from a terrific holiday in the Island Village Apartments in Tenerife. We found the apartments to be very spacious and well equipped, the large jacuzzi bath was an unexpected bonus. There were a few good places to eat and drink on site and the beach and shopping complex was a 15 min walk downhill (a bit more challenging on the way back)All staff on the complex were very helpful and accommodating. The apartments could have been a little bit cleaner but it was New Year and perhaps staff holidays affected this.
Best restaurants Verde and El Molino Blanco for a special night out.The best value for money was in an Italian restaurant just over the motorway at the bottom of the hill, near Chaplins It offered a three course meal for 6.95 euros The food was plentiful and very tasty.Best bar San Eugenie with great entertainment.
we had a great stay at island village the staff are very happy to help you with everything. They even managed to get us a car seat in 15 mins.
siam park is close to the resort a fantastic day out for all.
Accomodation looking a little tired in places, but adequate for a 3 star.Hotel staff friendly and helpfull, room cleaned daily, more clean towels we knew what to do with. Location perfect for us as we like to be away from all the hussle and bussle of the main streets and dont mind the walk, have been before and would go again.
Having asked for an appartment near the main pool, we were given the appartment furthest away from the main pool, the highest appartment in the complex! The complex is on a cliff side and the site is terraced, linked by steps or very steep ramps. I would not have liked to be at one of the top appartments with children in a pushchair. It took about 15-20 minutes to walk to the beach and porto colon. longer to climb home again. Our appartment was spacious, bright and clean but kitchen and bathrooms very dilapidated. We were told some appartments had been renovated. Ours hadn't. The pictures on the walls were so faded as to be monochrome! The staff were very helpful. Our children (12 and 14) made friends with others (February half term) and we felt they were safe on the site and at the pool (both the open pools had attendants). The on-site restaurant offers half board (breakfast with either lunch, dinner or packed lunch) for 100Euros per week (50 per child). Next door to Aqualand (older water park) and in walking distance of Siam Park (brand new good fun water park) - but the latter cost over a hundred euros entrance for the four of us.
Nice chinese restaurant 'Slow Boat' in Los Christianos. We booked the ResortHoppa transfers to and from the airport at 37Euros for the four of us. We waited about half an hour for the mini bus at the airport (transfer less than half an hour ) but they picked us up at the appartments over FOUR hours before our departure! the taxi rank outside the appartment said the airport transfer for up to 4 passengers was only 20-25 Euros, so we certainly would use that (or hire a car) next time. if you want to scuba very helpful at Divercity at porto colon (padi).
First impresions arriving at the accommodation at 6am were not good; a grotty reception and towels on the floor (we later found out because of torrential rain).
However the holiday improved from then on - our 2 bedroomed apartment was large, well equipped with jacuzzi bath, TV with English Channels and was cleaned regularly - the big downside is its location on a steep hillside albeit in a quiet area, a short taxi ride away (fare 4 Euros) from the main beaches.
There is a good supermarket on site selling all essentials and the Reception Staff were very helpful
The upmarket area of Costa Adeje is Playa Fanabe area with quality restaurants (although becoming increasingly expensive due to the Exchange rate) and a lovely beach.
Top Tip if you are on Self Catering - take some food essentials with you in a cool bag as nothing is now cheap!
Island village is a fantastic complex the apartments are clean and spacious i would recommend to all.
Restaurant on site is fantastic since refurbishment a great bar now also available.
As the island village is a very large complex it would depend on the apartment number wether it would be suitable for older people as some of the complex is right up a hill were as the lower apartments at the bottom would suit.
The apartments are a nice size as we had a one bedroom apartment which was suitable for for 4 all the staff were very helpfull. although the apartments are nice not sure if there are 2 or 3 keys as we noticed in there reception there were only displayings 2 keys
over the road a lovely friendly breakfast at the london
Quite a nice resort, spoiled by the lack of pools that were open?
It seams as if they are closing some, & others are private even though we saw no-one using them the during our week ??
Also the shortage of sunloungers, we asked @ reseption & got told the managment said there was suficient & they would not buy more.
The Carvery re-opened @ the end of our stay, this used to be one of the MUST VISIT restauraunts a few year back, will need to see how it goes in the future.
ok, morning breakfast, cheapest place is the LONDON, out of main entrance to the complex, turn right, cross road @ zebra crossing 1.5 euro, you can not make it any cheaper :)
The Deli is right next to the LONDON, great food. Good place to get your sarnies for flight home.
The phoenix is nice for a good stake, not bad price either, yummy
If you want more entertainment, go past the phoenix.
Down the hill, across bridge. There are bars either side of the road, steak bars, sports bars, Irish bubs, etc
One of the BEST is along the road until come to junction, right hand side of road right on the corner, EUGINE`S BAR.
Please do not go in this bar if you have no comical side, VERY funny compare.
Mike your a class act, LMFAO
All the BEST ACT on the island play here.
The BEST ACTS, all for FREE :)
Plus if you want to venture furthe, there is a taxi rank, right outside the resort.
Each apartment was set in its own garden and patio fully equipped with sun loungers and garden furniture. The grounds and gardens were very well maintained. Maid service was on a daily basis and the resort staff were very helpful, friendly and welcoming. Several pools on site and resort was suitable for young and old alike. Its is on a hillside although the resort is fully adapted for wheelchairs or families with pushchairs. We would go back again.
Directly opposite the Aquapark which is handy for young families. Also some excellent chinese restaurants offering good value for money buffet meals for 6.50 euro for all you can eat!. San Eugenio does have many great restaurant along the beach front and marina with good meat and fish dishes reasonably priced.
Had stayed at another 3 star accomodation in December and there was no comparison. Very pleased with location, comfort of apartment ,TV channels in English which provided more than news etc. Will certainly be back in future.
a great location , 20 minutes from the airport , 50m from aqua park and a short taxi ride to a variety of bars and restaurants .The complex is very quite and relaxing .This is our 3rd visit and it will not be our last .
Amazing complex, clean & tidy with everything you need. We were as high up as you could get, over 100 steps to the main pool at the bottom, although the pool for our complex was much closer and we were the only family that were there, bit like having a private pool.
Best restarant on the island is Chaplins, come out of Island Village turn right, cross the motorway bridge, down the hill the other side, stay left, it's about the 5th restuarant along, been eating there about 12 years, never yet had a bad meal or any food poisoning, the owner Pablo is a great guy and goes out of his way to help.
