A very pleasant holiday, hotel clean and tidy, staff very helpful and friendly, food average although would have liked to see more local food. Animation okay although not something we participated in much, but Justine did a good job. Evening entertainment a little mixed, liked local evening with dancers and would have preferred more of the same rather than karaoke! Very hot so didn't venture out much, but very close to beach with a nice walk into Paphos and harbour.
Great hotel. Very quiet - we stayed last week in June and had pick of sunbeds at any time of day.
Hotel staff very friendly and helpful.
Food fine, facilities good and entertainment staff did a great job with very small numbers.
O'Neills Irish bar and tea for two are great if you are wanting good British food
Good ,centrally located hotel with friendly staff.
Metaxas Restaurant is a little haven in a sea of fast food.
Clean, quiet with friendly helpful staff.
Excellent hotel for the price.
Rooms need a bit of refurbishment.
Staff very friendly.
Beach near hotel behind the Elysium hotel-costs 7 euros but is a great beach.
Hotel staff very friendly, rooms clean with excellent maid service, good choice of breakfast and evening meal buffets.
Excellent beach path to the town centre much nicer than walking down the main road. Hotel ideal if you want to see the historical sites.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Kissos Hotel as we always do. The Staff cannot do enough for us and are very friendly. The hotel is situated in a very good area near to the old Paphos and the Harbour, within easy walking distance to both.
We enjoyed the Italian restaurant Martelli situated across the road from the Hotel
This was our 3rd stay at this hotel and once again it fully met our expectations.
While I would like nothing more than to rave about this hotel to be fair I should say that this is an older hotel (70's) and some of the fixtures and fittings are a little dated (but pleasant) and the radio in our room did not work. On the plus side the hotel is kept very clean, its quiet and relaxing (at least at Easter and in May when we tend to go), it has a good range of facilities and the staff and management are fantastic. The old fashioned ideas of personal service are alive and well here. Its the small touches such as the owner manager personally attending most meals to talk to his customers and check they are happy that count. While there is a fair mix of English, Greek Cypriot and East European staff, (most speak good English) their is a high degree of continuity with most staff recognisable year on year. We always go half board as the food is very good and great value. Sufficient choice to keep our 8 and 12 year old children happy. Buffet style.
Entertainments are laid on in the summer period and were just about to start as we left so cannot comment on these. I would say that this hotel is ideally suited to families with younger children and retired folk.
Good location between tomb of the kings and harbour. 5 minutes and 30 minute walk along nice coastal path.
If you walk down the road and cross a small patch of barren ground your reach the seafront. They have recently added a nice path that goes all the way to the harbour.
Excellent hotel for us
Metaxus very good resteraunt
I was very satisfied with the room but the bathroom could do with an upgrade.
The staff were friendly, efficient, and helpful.
I would certainly return, the hotel is suitable for single travellers as it is not too large.
The Artia restuarant, Rigas , and Kassandras in Armou village are worth a mention.
We have stayed in this hotel for the last 4 years. It suits us (being over55!) We stay B & B wich we enjoy, its a typical cereal, fruit, european/english full breakfast. The pool is really good. It's not to far away from the harbour (20-30 minutes walk) or there is a bus stop about 20 yards from the hotel.
The breakfast was quite good but could have been better if there were a couple of microwaves available as by the time you got your food to your table it was only luke warm instead of hot. The variety of food available was good just not very hot. Also there was either next doors air conditioner or the bathroom extractor was noisy enough to keep breaking my sleep.
From our balcony you could see the sea and the Tombs of the kings
We book our hotels through travel republic 2 or 3 times a year and this is the first time we have been disappointed. We were a group of 19 in Cyprus for a family wedding. The hotel was basic but adequate, the pools especially the lagoon pool were nice, always plenty of sunbeds. We are not picky eaters, nor are we the Brits abroad brigade who want chips with everything but after the first couple of days we felt that the food went downhill like a bobsleigh, dishes were very random and it made it difficult to 'make' a meal that didn't look like you were emptying the freezer! Choc ice and chips anyone?!! If you take anything electrical (kettle, hairdryer etc) they threaten to confiscate them. On the whole the staff a very pleasant, however beware of the night porter, especially if you have teenage Daughters the attention he shows is above and beyond the call of duty...will leave that one with you, don't want to be done for libel!! We did have to talk to the manager about him
Tea for two just up the road, great for tea, snacks and meals also Fat Mammas
We were well received by staff at reception. As we had been before we knew where the room allocated to us was. Room clean and tidy - was cleaned every morning . Towels were replace very regularly - linen changed also once during our weeks stay. Staff were very frinedly even the Manager would stop and talk to you.
As we were on bed and breakfast only we cannot tell what the evening mals were like. However the buffet breakfast is OK - have as much or as little as you require. Altogether a good week. Well done Travel Republic.
Good restuarants to eat at , Karlina, Sisyfos [restaurant on the roof] along the Tomb of the Kings Road, and the Moorings down along the front at Kato Pahos.
The Municipal Beach 15 minutes walk - OK but watch the rocks.
The pool was fantastic and the rooms were very clean with housekeeping each day. the foot was average.
Big mammas was a great restaurant, just around the corner. Hire a car and go to Coral Bay beech and have a drive up in the mountains, beautiful.
The Kissos was clean and the superior rooms large. Recommend booking this type of room. If 4 people slept there 2 would have to share a rather small fold up bed. Lovely pools, one of which follows a 'river' style you can swim along. Food type quite limited to about 5 hot dishes a night but always soup, salad and the most delicious desserts available. Location is great - right next to many restaurants and bars along a strip. Can walk into Paphos itself to the harbour in about 20-25mins. For younger couples 'bar street' can also be found near to Paphos harbour. Lots to see and do near to the hotel. Beach was a bit disappointing as the sand was dark yellow and seemed to leave a strange film on your hands. Saw people swimming in the sea but we weren't brave enough to. The small metal pier seemed a bit old and rusty and we saw a girl hurt her foot on it.
Tombs of the Kings is so close - just 5 mins walk down the main road and it's fantastic if you enjoy exploring caves, old Roman columns and hideyholes. Take your own water as they do not sell it there and it's a long and hot, dusty visit. Also the Outback karaoke bar was great for a drink and hospitality ( turn right on the main road and walk for about 5-10 mins on right hand side). Cocktails just 2.50 euros and the manager makes sure everyone is well looked after. He was also a chef so I'm sure the food will be good too although we didn't eat there.
Enjoyed stay. Hotel very quiet and very clean. Maid service daily. Only a few guests stayed in the complex at night. Meals sometimes bland and repetitive.
Fat Mama's restaurant was hugely popular every night. Kings Road karaoke bar was good and for sports we went to the Yiamas bar, which was popular for families with younger children.
hotel clean staff friendly, food good but very limited choice, not good for kids, good location.
It was okay - bit drab though. The photographs look much better than the actual hotel. However, the staff were extremely helpful (except for the night staff - he was a bit rude and had an attitude). 1st day the air conditioning in the room did not work - we mentioned this and then it got a bit better - we had to move the beds to get some sleep. Overall it was okay but would only give it a two star and not a three.
The location was exceptional - every amenity and close to the beach (about two minute walk) and near to the Tombs of the Kings as well (about 5-10 minutes).
We have just returned from a weeks holiday, and can only say we were delighted with the Kissos Hotel.
The staff were friendly, helpful and the hotel itself was clean and very well run. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and would happily return.
Its is perfectly situated to access all parts of Paphos. The harbour, beach and eating places were all within walking distance.A walk down the Tomb of the Kings Road in the evenings provided free entertainment in most of the bars, which was suitable for all age groups and families.
The Kings Head kariokee bar was run by a lovely family and was great fun and entertaining.
