An old goat herder slowly passed up the adjacent narrow gorge in full view of our balcany. He was herding some 50 goats which miandered around the area as they passed. I found it fascinating to witness this age old event, relating back to biblical times and beyond
I enjoyed my stay very much at this hotel and found the staff to be very friendly and helpful
Excellent value for money.
Friendly staff (we did practise our Spanish)
They gave us a bottle of cava and a bowl of fruit 15 minutes after I happened to mention that it was our wedding anniversary.
Matresses were a bit uncomfortable - a spring digging into the back.
When we reported this they brought us another matress and placed it on top!!
Ended up with a double bed of differing heights.
We were all inclusive and, while the white was fine, the red wine (vino de casa) was not.
We asked what other wines were available and found out that there was a Crianza at 4e80 a bottle - less 20% discount. This was a lovely wine and we wish we had known about it at the beginning of our stay.
The hotel has a live webcam - have a look - it is trained on the roofpool.
Hotel was good, no complaints, just nothing for the children
Go over the bridge at the back of the hotel, follow the path straight down for faater access to the beach etc
We had a disappointing start to our holiday when we found they had no record of us having booked! Fortunately they had a room available. On entering the room we noticed a nasty damp smell (like dirty dishcloths). It helped when we opened the windows wide. However the smell lingered on and off all week. Also there was a very nasty black damp patch on the ceiling.
On saying all the above we enjoyed our stay at the Perla Tenerife. The evening entertainment was unexpected and often quite good. There was entertainment every night except Sunday. The bar was a good place to meet people. We were abit suprised that the hotel was so far from the centre at Puerta de la Cruz but there was a curtesy bus from the hotel during the day. It was rather a long way to walk in the evenings though.
The food was very good. We went half board and at both breakfast and dinner there was plenty of choice. At dinner there was always a fish dish and a meat dish with plenty of veg and salads.
There was nothing close to the hotel but we enjoyed a lovely day out at Loro Parque, worth the €31. You can catch the free train in Puerta de la Cruz to take you there.
hotel itself was spotless, staff very helpful and friendly but the food was AWFUL! also not for the elderly or infirm as it was high up on a very steep hill-but saying that we had a very good holiday (we ate out for the week). Also the only ENGLISH speaking tv channel was the stock exchange!!! i am a master now lol
use the footpath at the back of the hotel as it is much quicker and easier to get to the beach, also there was a little restaurant on the beach called "bodega" which sold the most fantastic food and was really friendly x
The Hotel was really good. The staff were excellent and very friendly. We would certainly go back again.
We liked the hotel very much, it was on a hill so probably not suitable for people with mobility problems.
Food was good and although not very big the layout was good.
Room comfortable.
Quite close to town & Lora Parque which is great, although we did have a car which made things easier.
Very pleasant hotel, excellent food and in a great location.
Staff were very welcoming and helpful, and the daily hotel activities were great . This all made up for the weather which was no more than 20c and cloudy every day!
A warmer pool would have been nice.
