Warren from Ilfracombe reviewed the Majorelle Hotel
Check-in Date: 22/Dec/2009

The hotel was extremely clean and the staff very nice. There was instant hot water and Towels and sheets and pillowcases clean every day.Shower pressure was good and the hotel was located very close to the Souks, a large modern supermarket, and the Gardens Marjorelle - all in all a good choice.

The lighting was a bit poor as they used energy saving bulbseverywhere and you cannot read by them for about half an hour until they have warmed up properly .

You might be disppointed at Breakfast essentially bread and jam with fried flat bread in a large steel hot dish that was never heated leaving cold congealed bread; but we grabbed some cereal and cheese from the local store to supplement rations and had a riot watching breakfast unfold guests asking for a knifebecause there was nothing on the tables in the way of cutlery - even though there were no knives and say 6 people were waiting they went away and got "ONE". Same with glasses for the orange juice ( Made up from crystals - a shame given the abudance of Fresh Oranges everywhere.) They had about six when there were places for 40. Occasionaly they came out with about 4 boiled eggs which went immediately and were replaced about half an hour later with two more. One day they even put out 6 cheese trianfgles by way of a change and despite being nearly killed in the rush I did not get one.

Despite this we thoroughly enjoyed the stay and the staff were great and very helpful - would recomend it.

Top Tip One of the most beautiful gardens I have seen in my travels The Gardens Marjorelle were close to the Hotel and are maintained under a trust from Yves St Laurent- Well worth a visit and the small entrance fee.

Contrary to expectations one of the cheapest places to eat during the day is in one of the cafes in theDjemaa el-fna square; here a couple of drinks and lunch will set you back about a fiver for the two of you ; but you have the best seats in Town watching the activity in the square and the riot of Donkey Carts Horses Local Tourists acrobats Water sellers shoe shine boys etc passing your table and you wont be rushed.

Check-in Date: 28/Jun/2009

Stay in this hotel all the time, and am more than happy with it, it is simple with no frills and good value for money, rooms are clean and staff are friendly and most speak english at reception.

Top Tip the cafe attached to the hotel is great to sit outside and watch the world go by! but if you want good quality Moroccan cuisine, Restaurant Omar just as you enter Djeema el Fna is great!

Jacqueline from Douglas reviewed the Majorelle Hotel
Check-in Date: 01/Apr/2008

We got to the hotel Majorelle to be told you had changed us to a different hotel, the Mogador. We had travelled some distance and were very tired. We did not appreciate getting all our luggage out and then having to put it all back in the car again. Also the hotel told us they had room but could not accommodate us as you had made the changes. The Mogador was an old hotel and did not have the facilities of the Majorelle. We were very disappointed. Even if a change was necessary it should have at least have had the same or better facilities as the one that was booked.
