Food is excellent, staff very helpful. Rooms clean and comfortable. Third year we have been to this hotel
The actual hotel was really nice. However on arrival we were really diappointed when we got to our room. We had a view of the road at the front of the hotel. When I booked the hotel I chose a twin/double room with side sea view (there was an additional cost for this when I booked it). When we complained to the reception staff they were not in the least interested and told us that we couldn't have booked a room with a side sea view. They reluctantly moved us to a room where we could see the sea - if we stretched over the edge of the balcony! Side sea view??? Not what we expected!!!
The beach was beautiful. Had been to this area before and the beach was the reason we went back there.
Luxury Hotel - very upmarket decour. We stayed in a suite - very spacious and comfortable. Food excellent - plenty of variety and choice. Right on a long, sandy beach with shallow, clear waters. The surrounding area does not have a lot to offer in the way of bars, restaurants etc, though they are a short bus or taxi ride away - either at Alcudia or Can Picafort. For a relaxed, hotel-based holiday, you can't go wrong. Staff very friendly and efficient.
The hotel had a wonderful location sandwiched between the beach and a national park - our suite had a terrace overlooking the national park which was superb for watching the sunset. Breakfast was excellent, staff were helpful and the spa area was great when the weather was a little cloudy. Unfortunately the surrounding area isn't great, with only one really decent restaurant and very little in the way of entertainment, but it is only a short bus ride to either the port or the old town of Alcudia so that didn't bother us at all.
There is a restaurant close by that serves excellent fresh food and is really good value. Unfortunately I can't remember the name, but if you turn right out of the back of the hotel (towards the Spar) and walk in that direction, the restaurant is on the left had side, next to the bank on the corner (about 5-10 mins walk). The rabbit and onion starter was delicious!!
The Hotel was excellent in almost every way. The staff were so helpful it was strange ! When the internet broke down in the public area they provided free e-mail connection in their own back office. The tolerance for kids was excellent and the cleanliness beyond reproach. The only thing I didn't like was the appearance of some food at the breakfast buffet which clearly had been from last nights dinner. I mean for heavens sake who eats brussel sprouts for breakfast or mixed vegetables with cheese sauce. The choice of other breakfast foods fresh and new was so vast you did have a choice though.
There is a restaurant about a mile down the road towards Alcudia called Boys which does amazing steaks with prompt service and excellent quality. It looks much the same from the outside as other restaurants but the clue is the others are empty and it is full ! Formentor is a great day trip but watch out for the cyclists who are there in abundance. The views from the top are amazing. Hire a bike and cycle round the nature reserve opposite the hotel, the wildlife is amazing and wild ponies wade through the marshes grazing. Watch the map as it is confusing and you can easily take the wrong turns, none of which are clearly marked.
The atmosphere was sad. I booked by email a taxi with them from the airport. It did not arrive. They seemed perplexed but not very apologetic about this when we presented email proof of the booking. We had specified certain requirements as we were travelling with an 84 year old lady, these were ignored. Eventually we got an upgrade as the hotel was not very full. On half board there was no option to have lunch instead of dinner - strange for a 5 star hotel. The breakfast was plentiful, but the fruit juices were synthetic and the coffee was awful (boiled early in the morning and presented lukewarm to breakfast guests). Again, not good for a 5 star establishment. Staff were less than cheery.
All Travel Republic's travel arrangements were brilliant though, Thank You!
The beach by the hotel is excellent and the sea is shiny clean.
7 years old, lots of room and spacious accomodation. Good food but not quite 5*.
Niggles are charge for room safe, charge for internet (only 2 computers), no hotel shop, rock hard beds, canvas sun beds- no mattress- very uncomfortable, no waiter service to pool area, but access straight onto very nice beach, entertainment so so, no meet the manager evening.
Worst point, nice hotel in a grotty neighbourhood.
the hotel suite was large and spacious, very clean. I found the bed to be hard and the sunbeds were uncomfortable! i was dissapointed that as I struggled to put up an very large sun umbrello that there was no staff to assist with this.
topio gigio a resturant about half a mile along the main road from Palce de muro hotel on the left hand side going towards Alcudia is excellent for steak and chicken dishes. The service is very quick and their ali oli on sun dried tomatoe bread is delicious!
Hotel and Service was Excellent. Hotel very popular with Germans although it is becoming more popular with British Tourists. We suffered some slight noise from building work that was in progress adjacent to hotel, but the quality of our suite more than made up for the building activity. Pool was cold when we were there but this was at the start of the season and the weather was changeable
I would also have rated the food as excellent but for the occasional fly within the dining area landing on uncovered food!
Great to have beach to walk out onto just a slight pity that when we were there there was a lot of washed up seaweed on the beach. We hired a car and this was great to do some sightseeing when the weather was not at its best.
The Hotel was great and the staff helpful and receptive. One criticism only, the beds were incredibly hard.
excellent location, accommodation lovely food and staff great. Will be going back next year.
don't need any other beach the one the in front of the hotel is one of the best in spain
First impressions were a little disapointing whilst the hotel when seen from its reception quadrangle was very impressive the approach to it and the area around the hotel was too much like Blackpool. Having said that the hotel itself was a haven and very well run.
The hotel backed on to the beach which gave the impression of private sunbathing even though the beach was public.
exellent, all round hotel great spot, beach beautiful, food and staff great.
Hotel was superb, food was excellent, service was also excellent unfortunately we had a few bad days of weather. We would definately return again!
Boat trip to Formentor was probably the highlight we travelled in a glass bottomed catamaran and saw lots of fish. The beach at Formentor was superb and the coves/rock formations were very interesting
