It was a bit of a walk to the old town 15mins.It would take 45 at least to the new town. But taxis were available with a phone call from the very helpfull girls at reception. But it was a great holiday and very clean apartments.

Top Tip No nothing near it was in the hills.

Thoroughly enjoyed the stay, but, it was 15 mins to the beach, but 30 mins back! There is a good bus service that ran up until 11pm.

Lovely hotel really, rooms very spacious with most of your needs, only downfall it is on top of very steep long hill from the town and beach. Hotel supermarket almost empty, food and drink in bar quite expensive.

Top Tip Do not get in taxi at airport - total rip off - 69 euros one way. (driver said it was dearer on a Saturday) return fare only 30 euros booked from the nearby paper shop.

The Pateo Village complex was extremely clean and also the staff were very helpful and many spoke excellent english. The maid came more often than advertised and we got more clean towels than advertised.

If you have young children and are planning early nights, take earplugs!! the on-site bar has karyoke nights twice a week and it's LOUD !!!

The complex shop is three times the price of local shops - go out of the complex, down the hill and turn left for the closest next best shop but it has limited opening and is more expensive than if you carry on to the traffic lights and turn right, signposted on a wall 'mini-mercardo' - this shop is one third of the complex shop prices!

All in all, a great holiday location, just too far from the beach to visit every day with little children. We'd go again though.

Top Tip If you're taking a 2-3 yr old who hates their buggy and are not planning to take it with you, think again - the place is uphill all the way from the beach and town - our 2.5yr old was asking for his buggy which we left at home - so what did I do? got a taxi to Mondelo hypermarket and I got one for €15!! job done.

Don't go there in Jan / Feb. no staff, indoor pool FREEZING, Tennis court 10.00Euro per session (Ridiculous)even table tennis has a charge, your T.V. is a postage stamp, & the only channel is Sky News.Oh! & the Bar & shop is closed, & you can't check in 'till 3.00pm so if on early flight forget it! Bus service is good but you have a steep hill up to Hotel complex. Local Restaurants all closed, so if eating out it's a bus ride into town.2km away. Manager helpfull, but then he has to be, he is the only one there.Rooms clean, maid service good, walls like paper so if you have noisy neighbours, particulaly above you, you will hear every movement. We stayed a month, BIG MISTAKE it was hell.If I had packed a gun, I would have used it! on Me & the Wife.

Top Tip Good local Restaurant?? would have been nice to try 'em? at least half a dozen but all shut.2 bars at bottom of road, no T.V. just beer & coffee.

hotel receptionist not too friendly on day shift but the lad on night shift was very helpful.
we had no complaints on the apartments and were very clean.
only downside was the location. too far away from the town and all uphill not a lot of entertainment in the area.
there was a bus 1-3o euro but a taxi back at night was 6euro

The apartments were well presented and the service was excellent.Although some distance from the beach there was a regular apartment organised bus service to centre of the old town and there after only a short walk to the beach. If you didnt want to go to the centre of town there were several eating places within easy walking distance all at moderate prices and with extensive menus.

Top Tip these apartments would probably suit people who are looking for a more relaxed holiday but if thats what you want then I would have no hesitation in recommending them.

It would have been appreciated if the bus service operated by the hotel was free and it ran a little later in the evenings. The apartment was very spacious only little annoying thing was the door rattling in the wind - soon put a stop to that by placing folded cardboard to jam it.

Top Tip Didnt venture very far only to the old town and saw the beach.

Bed and breakfast on first day difficult to arrange. Supposed to star at 8.00a.m. but nobody turned up until 08.10 to open up.
Cafe staff were unaware of b & b basis and had to find out. Did not get breakfast until 08.45.
Reception staff on arrival gave no information about breakfast times or the fact that you had to leave a deposit for tele. remote. No info in room either.

Rooms are tired but clean. Kitchen cabinets need repairing.

Top Tip 2 Good restaurants round corner from hotel.MaMa Mia and O Leme.

Apartments were basic but very nice, they were very spacious and very clean, the only fault was the plumbing, when you flushed the toilet it was like someone playing the drums for about 1-2 minutes after, therefore during the night flushing was banned! Would definitely consider using these apartment again. Susan Foote 25/10/07

A nice apartment but very basic! No cushions on the settee and a television with a screen so small, we had to sit 3 feet away from it to see anything. A long long way from the centre, not mentioned in your details of location. We had to wait
one and a half hours to get our hired car (at 9.00pm) due to our flight leaving Stansted one hour late.
