Gereraly a very good hotel at which I have stayed at twice before. We chose half board, and were very satisfied with the choice of food, and service. The hotel rooms are ok, but could do with an update. The hotel is well placed for using the loocal bus service, and the no 3 buses are plentiful to take you into Palma. The Hotel is very close to the beach, and there are no roads to cross to get there. The staff in the hotel are very polite and helpful. The only problem we encountered was the shuttle service from the Hotel back to the airport, you need to clarify the pick up point, as the shuttle service drops you off on the main Rd on arrival, leaving you a short walk with your cases to the hotel. When you are leaving you need to find out, if they will pick you up from the hotel, or do they expect you to travel to the main rd, as they did in my case.
Cala Mayor has a great beach, and is ideal for swimming. if you hire a sunbed you pay the full rate, morning or afternoon, they don't do half days.
We were left waiting outside the hotel for transport to the airport as instructed. The transport did not turn up and we had to take a taxi, the cost of which was refunded by Urbis Co.The result was a nervewracking rush to check in ,clear security and find the departure gate. It would appear that the coach picked up on the nearby main road but we were told to wait outside the hotel. The coach driver made no attempt to check with the hotel, eventhough it was only 100 yards away.
Food excellent. Very clean. Staff helpful.
Excellent beach two minutes from hotel
We had asked for a sea view but the view was poor or limited. The room it self was tired and certainly did not meet in any way that of a four star if any thing i would of said two star. The size of room was O.K. but the fridge and T.V. dated, let alone the bedding which had seen better days. This was equally the same for the pool area where the funiture had long since seen better times. On the other hand the food and staff could not be faulted and this did make up for a lot of short comings
I have taken photos of the hotel and if you would wish to see them would only be to pleased to pass them on or call in to your offices as i only live a couple of miles from where you operate from....
No! the area is poor with a lot of empty shops and rubbish scattered every where. Dog fouling of the pavements is totally unacceptable. The beach area tho limited was kept well. Other than that it will not be our intention to go back to this area ever again. Reference restaurants yes they are around and about but nothing that really be worth commenting on
small and peaceful hotel, blissfully almost childfree
Shubedua restaurant
Cafe Tauro
Good Italian restaurants
Good shopping centre Porto Pi only a couple of bus stops away
Great beach
Not a four star hotel. Rooms very basic in need of decorating. Carpet on stairs were worn and dangerous. Room and bathroom not cleaned adequately everyday. Breakfast buffet was good.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Hotel is in a good location for the beach
The great news about this hotel is value for money. We had half board and very good service for a song. It suffers from a certain faded glory smacking of a 1970s heyday but nonetheless was very comfortable and genuinely had a fabulous seaview from a balcony for every room. There were no 'smoking police' either which was refreshing. Palma is far better than we imagined really easy bus service the number 3 round the corner from the hotel takes you straight into the middle of town (Placa Espagne) and from there everywhere is a short walk and the number of fabulous historic buildings are awesome.
Pick up one of the free Palma town maps from tourist info at the airport in arrivals it has all buses marked and makes everything straightforward. A bus ride from the airport is very simple to the town centre even with heavy cases we found it a breeze from there it seems you can get a bus to pretty much anywhere. Don't miss the walk along the front-marina at the bottom of town its chock ablock with every concievable boat from millionaire launches to fishing dinghys.
