All staff very polite and welcoming. Lots of facilities to use, such as pool, sauna, turkish bath, games room, bar and more. Rooms are very modern and cleaned daily.

Top Tip The beach straight infront of Quarteira Sol hotel.
Il Lamparo in Vilamoura.
Aquashow in Quarteira.

Very happy with the hotel, we went for the 'lucky dip' as we called it, basically you get whats available on the day. We got a very nice double room with a balcony on the 8th floor, it was one away from the best i reckon!

Top Tip Stay away from a food place called Tina, its by the beach, had 'the runs' all afternoon and evening after i had a burger there. Best local place was a few stores down called Roma. The Roma burger is good. If you go to Querteria, take the cab to Vilamoura, you'll find loads of pubs, english speaking tourists, water sports and the beach! You can then walk on the beach all the way back to your hotel (2km).

Gemma from Shepperton reviewed the Quarteira Sol Hotel
Check-in Date: 25/Jun/2010

The hotel is very modern and although the rooms are relatively small they are really nice - the hairdryer in the bathroom is brilliant!
The staff at the hotel were so friendly and helpful - probably some of the best hotel staff I have ever come across. The hotel is close to the beach and within easy walking distance to an array of bars and restuarants.
The breakfast was fairly limited, but of a good standard - there is a choie of hot and cold food although the coffee machine was broken the whole time we were there :) Pool area is nice with good sun loungers. The gym isnt hugely equipped - just one treadmill, a cross trainer, rower and bike - no free weights or weight machines. The sauna and steamroom however are brilliant. Would definately recommend this hotel and would stay here again if we return to Portugal. Overall, a great choice.

Top Tip We hired biked for a small fee (which the hotel kindly booked for us) and rode out passed Vilamoura onto Falesia Beach - which was stunning. Definately a great way to get out and see the scenery.

Hotel in good location near beach. Reception area ,Bar and Dining room all in very good and clean condition. Room modern and cleaned daily. Breakfast Buffet style with plenty of choice. Reception Staff very friendly and helpful.
Plenty of good restaurants near to hotel with food reasonably priced.

Top Tip Beach only 3 minutes walk from hotel although some parts of beach slope very steeply into sea and may not be suitable for young children.

Good hotel for the price although breakfast selection was limited and choices did not change once in 5 day stay. Reception staff were friendly and very helpful Plenty of parking outside and short walk to beach.

Top Tip Good mobile burger bar - open all hours over road from hotel!

Check-in Date: 06/May/2010

Hotel was very clean and the staff friendly and helpful. My main criticism would be the beds, very hard and difficult to get a god nights sleep. The breakfast buffet was more than sufficient and the selection at the evening buffet was also good.

Top Tip Whole beach was clean and a good bar to meet people, eat and enjoy a drink was Fantasia.

Nice hotel, room was small but very modern and spotlessly clean, maid service daily. Breakfast was buffet style to begin with, perfectly adequate, however all hot food was withdrawn and so were left with cold meats, cheese, cereal, fruit etc to choose from. Nice pool area, with sunbeds etc. Half Board was very limited to a choice of just 2 options, was not buffet style, so I wouldn't recommend HB if considering this. Some guests who had paid for HB were eating out as choice was so limited.

Top Tip Nice places to eat, Antiono's is great, staff are very friendly and food excellent. Atlantico bar next door to it is good for a drink/snack and looks out onto the sea front, ' Milan ' restaurant further down the promenade is great value for money, although has no ambiance, but food good.

Customer Service and standards of room facilities and cleanliness and services excellent.
Central location, good value for money and Im so pleased I found it - stayed twice now.
The staff are most friendly and helpful.
There isnt any evening intertainment ( end April ) but thats not a problem as theres plenty nearby and its nice to have a quiet hotel for a change !
Highly recommend.
Ive seen reviews when guests are placed in the " old " part of the hotel- not great and isnt as modern but Ive never experienced this on the 2 stays Ive been. It looks like this part of the building is used in high season. Thee main facilities are all in the modernised " new refurbished " part.

Top Tip The Hotel couldnt be better positioned in terms of not far from Faro, short distance to Promenade, Beach, Villamoura and the bus station is across the road.
The Hotel secured a bike hire for me and it was delivered plus they happily allowed me to store it inside the hotel.
The food selection is slightly limited in choices beyond a certain range eg 1 meat and 1 fish dish choice for dinner but theres a salad selection, good desserts , fruit etc so its more than adequate.

The hotel is ideally positioned in Quarteria for those who dont want to walk far to the promenade and the beachfront. Similarily the stroll to Villamoura along the beachfront is therapeutic. The new refurbished section is just grand. Rooms and bathroom with modern facilities. Restaurant choice very adequate but not lavish if youre looking for sophisticated cuisine.
Staff very helpful , customer focused and remember returning guests. Not sure that Quarteria is suitable for family with children - entertainment wise apart from the beach. The bus station is opposite so theres plenty places to get to from there. I was chuffed that the hotel could order a bike for me and have it delivered and they made it possible to store it safely overnight. The bike comes with a plan of suitable & safe cycle paths including nature trails-- Fabulous off road scenery that you wouldnt normally come accross. Its possible to cycle off road to Albuffiera.

Top Tip See above.

Thomas from Rochdale reviewed the Quarteira Sol Hotel
Check-in Date: 18/Oct/2009

The Bedrooms we had which were on the first floor (Rooms 107/108) had balconies big enough to hold a dance on
The breakfast bar(hot food section ) was very limited to bacon, badly fried eggs and scrambled eggs and there was no variation whatsoever ie.no beans or mushrooms or even boiled eggs.....the toasing machine was antiquated and highly dangerous given the number ofyoung children allowed to roam without parental supervision
There was no entertainment and although there was bars in the hotel you were reliant on the head waiter having to break off resturant duties to cover the bar and bar prices of 3-75 euros for a large local beer was a bit over the top

Top Tip Behind the Hotel Sol Quateria was the Dom Jose and you could get regular entertainment (piano Bar with quizzes the odd game of bingo and plenty of jokes) with a happy hour from 8-00pm to 9-30 pm with local beer at 1-50 euros(nomal price 3-00 euros
then from 9-30pm to 10-30pm down the road at the Tropicana local beer at 1-80 per pint with the second one free also if you bought your first drink as late as 10-25pm they would still honour your second fre pint irrespective of what time you collected it during the evening and the bar shuts at 2am

The Hotel was excellent including the food. (Refurbished part of the hotel) the other parts looked very tired and we would not recommend these. We would love to book again but would require assurance that our accommodation would be in the main refurbished Quarteria Sol Hotel Building. The resort was great for us 40/50 year olds.

Top Tip Mamma Mia is a great restaurant about 3 minutes from the hotel. The staff are very friendly and the food is great, ( large portions and very good quality).

We enjoyed a very pleasant one week stay at the Quarteira Sol Hotel.Staff were always pleasant and helpful. Room service was good and maid service excellent.
This hotel is four minutes walk from an excellent beach and opposite to the public bus station which offers an excellent service.

Top Tip restaurants close by offer good selection of both Portuguese food [which is excellent] ,Chinese,Indian, and English food.
