Top Tips from our customers for Beaches & Sights in Lagos - Algarve

- The beach at Lagos is fantastic. Lagos has lots restaurants which were great - our average cost per meal was 30/40 euros which included a bottle of wine.
There is a train station in Lagos - the train goes up the coast to Albuferia etc

Stayed at Montemar HotelJuly 2007 - The beaches are all excellent. Take the time to walk - there is some fabulous countryside. Try the more traditional Portuguese restaurants, the food is excellent.

- If you like to explore in a car, then you must 'without fail' drive to Cabo de St Vicente (the most western point of mainland europe) to watch the sun set, 'it is amazing' and well worth the drive (approx 30 minutes from Lagos), however; it's rather windy and cold at this time of the day so take a jacket or jumper to keep you warm.
Apart from other fantastic places in the Algarve, a drive up to Monchique is also a must.
I would say that the best quality place to eat in Lagos is D.Henrique Restaurante. It may be a little more expensive than some restaurants however; it is well worth it! It is often best to make a reservation to be sure of a table here.
If you like a good red wine, then Monte Velho is a must! - available in most restaurants and supermarkets.
