Holidays to Rota

Located about 35 kilometres from the provincial capital of Cadiz in Andalusia, about halfway between Portugal and Gibraltar, Rota is a small fishing town located near a huge naval base. The military provides most of the employment in the town, with tourism and fishing coming in second and third. It has changed hands between various civilisations over the centuries – Phoenicians, Romans and Moors – and the architecture demonstrates this.
