Holidays to Ciudad Jardin
Built in the late 19th Century as a luxury resort east of Mallorca’s capital Palma, Ciudad Jardin is enjoying a bit of a renaissance as a 21st Century hipster place to hang out. The Mediterranean beach is the main draw and the shabby buildings along it are slowly being gentrified. The town is close to Palma’s airport and popular with day trippers, so it’s a busy place and perfectly situated for exploring the coast and the sights of the island’s capital.
A stretch of lovely white sand and a promenade with smart restaurants and cafes give the area a cool Miami Beach feel.
Playa de Palma
A 6km length of beach with shallow water and lifeguards. There are sun loungers and plenty of bars and restaurants.
This Gothic castle was built in the 14th century and is now one of Majorca's main attractions.
Museum of Spanish Contemporary Art
Housed in a 17th century mansion, this museum houses work by 20th century artists including Picasso, Dali and Miro.
With everything from bustling markets to designer shops, Majorca is perfect for a little retail therapy.
If you want to get around in Majorca, why not hire a bike? It's a great way to see the island.
Mercat de l’Olivar
Palma’s bustling market is a must visit for any foodie with amazing olives, jamon Serrano, tapas bars and spicy chorizo.
Oysters are a particular favourite here, but all the seafood from fish to tiny prawns are delicious and fresh.
Grab a cool beer at the bars along the beachfront at Ciudad Jardin. For dancing it’s best to head into Palma.
Slick nightclub with 3 floors and famous DJs, in Palma’s port with terraces overlooking the harbour.
