Holidays to Tholos
This picturesque location on the north east coast of Rhodes has managed to hold onto its traditional Greek village feel, so visitors who appreciate authenticity will like it here. There is a good selection of restaurants and bars, however, and the beaches are particularly suited to watersports. It’s about 20km from the capital and so is within convenient day trip distance; in fact, the whole island is easily accessible from this spot.
The beach extends for 10km and has good facilities – loungers, cafés, etc. Clean seas, white sand, lush, green backdrop.
On the north west coast, this beach is popular with tourists because of its facilities and proximity to the airport.
Acropolis of Rhodes
This once powerful city now lays in ruin and you can explore the remains of a temple, theatre and stadium on foot.
Excavations have uncovered an ancient city. Water supply systems, a market place and a temple can still be seen.
Fancy something a little different? Take a guided Segway tour of Rhodes to see the main sights.
Kids are sure to love the Falaraki Water Park, which boasts plenty of water slides and pool games.
Stuffed vine or cabbage leaves are a Greek favourite – usually filled with rice and meat or vegetables.
This is a light salad of wild asparagus, onion and lemon juice that celebrates Rhodes’s freshest ingredients.
My Little Greek Kitchen
A cosy atmosphere and serving authentic Greek food – you can also get a lesson in ow to cook here.
Friendly and welcoming with live sports on a large screen television. The food is reasonably priced and good, too.
