Fabulous food and comfortable accommodation with easy access via local bus (really easy) or taxi to Heraklion if you want it. Would class it more of a 4star than a 5 star resort though based on the room we had which was a Garden Bungalow for 2 adults and 1 child which had two single beds and then a 'put you up bed' wheeled in so was a bit tight on space. But considering when we turned up they had no record of our booking they were great at finding us a room and taking it up with Travel Republic rather than us. There were two pools - one salt water and one chilidrens with slides but we spent most of our time on the beach. Take beach shoes the sand gets extremely hot to walk on. The sea never really goes out and for us was calm each morning and then more fun waves in the afternoon. There wasn't much in terms of sports. There is a gym and tennis courts but both were only available from 10 until 4pm which for us was not the time we wanted to use it. The food and cocktails were definitely the highlight of the resort. Both being plentiful, with loads of choice and good quality. We had a fabulous relaxing week.
