Disappointing overall with some good points. Not a 4 star hotel falling down on food and comfort of room and lounge areas. The matress was really hard and uncomfortable as were all the chairs. In room 521 we could hear everything in the room above. The food was poor in many cases although the fish was generally good, quite well cooked and very varied. All the meat was very tough, avoid the veal in all forms! The escalope with lemon sauce had been floured and dipped in sauce so grey, lumpy and unappetising and too tough to cut. The veg was overcooked and served totally cold or lukewarm and then turned up to supplement the meagre salad buffet just a little lettuce, tomato and cucumber. The breakfast buffet was boring, everyday the same. The only was a protein hard boiled egg and a few slices of wafer thin ham or cheap spam if you were lucky. Thank goodness there was always plenty of fresh fruit and yogurt. The coffee was undrinkable. If you ordered a cup it was a little better. The young waiting staff, often students from the mainland, were very nice and worked very hard but they were thin on the ground. The Manager was hopeless never speaking to the guests or doing anything at all. The Head waiter seemed to serve no function either and when I took my ghastly veal to show them they took it away but did not offer an apology or a replacement! The good points were the lovely big pool and terrace. It was a couple of minutes walk to the beach through a natural wooded garden. The beach was a lovely coral sand bay but for us spoilt by all the rows of sunbeds which you has to pay for although they gave us card for reduction. We'd go back to beautiful unspoilt Sardinia but deffinitely not to this hotel.
