The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was good but for the price I paid I'm not impressed with the room at all - which I said to the receptionist. I understand that the hotel is undergoing refurbishment but this cannot and should not be used as an excuse for such a poor standard especially for the price I paid. I've received a much better room standard (breakfast included) in central Rome a few months ago for less than half the price I was charged here. When I arrived there were someone’s spectacles on the bedside table. The side of the bed was ripped/damaged and the window was open but not only was the frame rotting, I had to "dangle" from the window in hope that my weight would be enough to try and close it. The shower was tiny and the shower basin was like something from the 1960s with well engraved water marks on the bottom. The shower pressure was not that great, that coupled with the water blowing between hot and cold was a bit of a challenge to ensure I didnt scald myself one minute and freeze the next. There was NO hotel information in the room re check-out times, breakfast times etc, no hair dryer, no ironing board and no fridge or bottled water. The only positive I can say is that the bed, although damaged, was comfortable. I dare not get in that lift either.
