A lovely hotel set in large grounds with peacocks around the gardens. Whilst most of the castle was in keeping with a traditional theme, our room was modern and comfortable. The room was clean and maintained to a good standard, staff were friendly and polite at all times. We booked for breakfast, which we found a little lacking as the first day we ordered breakfast which was provided on small plates and there was only 1 of everything in relation to the cooked breakfast. There was a continental breakfast provided if you preferred this. The second morning it was self service, presumably as the hotel was a lot busier, however I did not eat any breakfast this day as all the cooked items had ran out and was very slow to be replaced. (this was not helped by observing some people piling their plate high with sausages and bacon) It appeared to be from one extreme to another, and maybe the hotel would benefit in serving the cooked breakfast, at a reasonable size to prevent these issues from occuring in the future. Apart from this breakfast issue - We was very pleased with out stay in the castle and would stay there again as it makes an ideal base to explore the welsh country side.
