Very welcoming and attentive ,however my husbands meal was served cold and had to be sent back,when it came back warm.This is our only complaint.

Crumbs on the dressing table. Light over bathroom mirror not working. Toilet roll holder broken. Telephone system not working. Lovely dining room only used by residents for breakfast, other meals were served in a room next to the public bar. Staff very helpful but no one seemed to be in charge. They all seemed to be multi-tasking, on reception one minute, in the bar the next then serving in the restaurant. Listed as being in Threlkeld but nowhere near the village in fact 6 miles south of Keswick on the Grasmere road. Took us a while to find it. Lovely old inn but the rooms need some refurbishing.

this was my 3rd stay at the kings head. had a great time as alawys. the staff are very friendly, food is lovely and the views are amazing from the rooms. would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice break in the lakes.

This is a typical mid-sized English Lakes hotel. The room was small and facing the main road which made it quite noisy, but it was a last minute booking and I think the rooms at the back of the hotel were probably better. However it was clean and pleasant with a comfy bed.
The service was very good throughout and the bar area was nice and traditional with several real ales on tap. The restaurant food was excellent and breakfast selection varied, especially liked the Cumbrian breakfast which consisted of delicious cold ham with poached eggs and apricot relish - yum! What a pleasant change from the usual fryup (although this was also on the menu).
