My room was split between two floors with a spiral staircase connecting them. This was interesting but it did mean a lot of running up and down. The water did not always come out the expected temperature - sometimes the cold water in the handbasin came out rather warm. Otherwise, the room was very comfortable. The sound of seagulls started rather early in the morning, although this did not bother me unduly. The food was good, apart from perhaps an over-provision of salad or vegetables. The traditional breakfast was a nice size, with the sausage being particularly tasty. West Bay is a pleasant place, and a good base for the Coast Path (see below).
