The Victor hotel is approx 20 mins from airport, and 9kms from the centre of Rome. However there is a free shuttle bus that you must book at reception (the day before) that drops you off at the Metro (underground railway) and is useful to access all historical sights. rooms are very clean and very good value for money. The breakfast was continental and plenty to eat. This is a typical Italian Hotel and they do not speak much English, SO familiarise yourself with a few words that you will need, and keep you phrase book handy! Also you will need to weigh up which bus to get on, after your journey back on the Metro as it takes a metro and bus to get back to hotel. This is reflected in the price of the hotel, which is very good value in comparison. Beware of the beggars and scroungers in the centre of Rome also do NOT take a Rose from anyone especially near the Spanish steps, as they say its a gift and then haunt you for money!!
