The room was in a very small, cold, unwelcoming annexe. The electric heater was old and didn't work even after a member of staff took a look. She said she stayed in the room when she first took up her post and found the heater took forever to come on. The deco was scruffy, tatty walls, old extension plugs, kettle full of lime scale so even though desperate for a cuppa we had to chuck out our tea. Door to the outside with an unsecured locking system that was loose. No lock on the bathroom door what so ever just a hole in the door where it used to be. Dirty sink, shower had mould on the sealant around the joints, mirror hanging off bathroom wall. We were warned the bed was a small double and this was fine for one night. Bedding and towels were clean. This room just didn't match the rest of the hotel and should never be used for paying guests. If we hadn't been so exhausted from our long journey from France we would never have stayed. We mentioned all of the above to the young lady who checked us out. She gave no apology at all. We spent £43 on the room and £33 in the restraunt. It would have been good customer relations to at least have offered us a cup of tea and some toast.
