Overall this is a pretty good hotel but has a couple of development areas that make it fall short of being a great hotel. I will start with the good points. This hotel has a great vibe created in most part by the staff. Whether it is from the friendly bar staff, the helpful reception staff or the very amiable and chatty tour agent Brandon, you are made to feel very welcome and that they all know who you are. The hotel also has a great decor In a lovely colonial style with the gardens, bar and pool areas adorned with lots of attractive flora and fauna. Another plus is the ease at which you are able to go on excursions to the nearby national parks. Brandon is very accommodating and makes it easy for any tour to be booked at short notice. Moving to the not so good. There are a few issues which need to be addressed. The first point is that there is a severe lack of pool loungers. The hotel only has 4 of these, which in my view is wholly inadequate for a hotel of any size. Obviously due to the nature of the location most guests go on daily excursions to the great natural wonders, however between these it is nice to relax by the pool. It was often difficult to find anywhere to lay down. There were chairs around but loungers are what everyone expects around a pool. The second point is that they wasn't any hotter shower water than luke warm, if that. When you go out and get sweaty on jungle treks we would have liked some proper shower temperature to have a clean up. If the development points are addressed we would have give this hotel a very high score. It's very nearly there.
