We were very pleased with the hotel overall. We specifically requested a room with 2 separate beds. On arrival we found we found we had been given a tiny room with 2 very small twin beds made up as a double. I went down to reception and explained I was not happy with the room. Luckily there was one larger twin room. The breakfasts were excellent. The choice of food for dinner was good and was of an excellent standard. The waiters were very polite and always quick to help. The two head waiters ran the restaurant very efficiently and had excellent customer service skills.

I stayed at this hotel with my 13 year old daughter for 6 nights. Our room was basic but had everything we needed with an amazing view of the lake. It was cleaned and the bed made everyday. We were half board and the evening meal was really good with 4 courses. We could choose from 3 things for the 2nd and 3rd course. The waiters were really friendly and helped with wine choices. The reception staff were friendly and assisted with any questions we had. We made use of the small pool at the back of the hotel which was cleaned every morning. The hotel did not have a bar inside as it was just across the road along with their other restaurant that anybody could use. You could take drinks from there to the pool though. We had a really enjoyable stay.

Hotel emenities and location was perfect. However, very dissapointed in the food (halfboard) Breakfast was okay - dinner was inedible, all just microwaved meals, no fresh ingredients were used. ‘Tuna’ in my pasta which was questionable and looked like minced pork... limited on vegetarian options. overall very dissapointed and would not return to hotel because of this.

Lovely, clean hotel with excellent staff. The rooms at the front have a great view of Lake Como, but also are very close to the noisy motorcycle parking area and the car ferry. The pool and garden area with sunbeds is a bonus.

This is a quaint hotel which retains its charm in its traditional decor. It’s location in particular makes it good value for money. The staf were very friendly and helpful, in particular Mary on reception for whom nothing was too much trouble. The swimming pool is very pretty and provided a quiet little oasis. But take your drink with you! It would have been nice to have had tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms. Breakfast was adequate but not exceptional. The bar/snack bar was a bit lacking in choice, quality and service and, despite being located on the lakeside, also lacked a bit of atmosphere, although to be fair, the weather was not brilliant while we were there, and therefore it was pretty quiet. Would I stay at the Spledide again? Yes I would. Overall our stay was lovely.
